Funeral Mass for Edith Carder Sherman, 91, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Sherman died April 25, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born July 9, 1916, in Philadelphia. She married Milton C. Sherman on July 27, 1940. They moved to Florida, where Mr. Sherman developed a precision aluminum manufacturing business. He retired, and they moved to Sheridan in 1964. Mrs. Sherman was a member of the Catholic Church and an avid bridge player. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and being with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Rita Deur. Survivors include two sons, Tom of Wyandotte, Mich., and Mike of Sheridan. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Sheridan native Jenny Louise Rollins, 76, of Phoenix died April 22, 2008, in a Phoenix hospital. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Chapel in Peoria, Ariz. Mrs. Rollins was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Sheridan to Gothard and Evelyn (Ely) Bylund. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1949. She worked as a stewardess for American Airlines, secretary for the Phoenix Union High School District, and as a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed travel, including trips to Laughlin, Nev., and Sheridan in the summer to be with family and friends. She also enjoyed shopping sprees, sharing chocolate and pastries, reading and following Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Melisse Jeanne Grey and Donna Lee Rawlings. Survivors include her husband, Carl; a son, Scott R.; and two sisters, Evelyn E. Griesser of Tucson, Ariz., and Mary N. Taliaferro of Castle Rock, Colo.
Birdie E. Betty Scott, 83, of Laramie died April 26, 2008, at her residence. She was stepmother of Penny Goodman of Sheridan. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Green Hill Cemetery in Laramie under direction of Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home, Crematory & Monuments. Mrs. Scott was born July 13, 1924, in Newark, Ark., to Allen and Hattie (Adams) Whitfield. She grew up on the family farm near Norfork, Ark., and attended schools in Norfork. She moved to Laramie in 1947. She worked for the Richard family and the Ranger Motel. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. She was a longtime member of Women of the Moose. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolland Scott, and a daughter, Betty Green. In addition to her stepdaughter, survivors include two stepsons, Keith Scott of Wellington, Colo., and David Scott of California; five sisters, Oneida Stevens and Wilma Huff, both of Norfork, Helen Hathaway of Indiana, Bobbie Sanders of Calico Rock, Ark., and Norma Speak of New Cambria, Mo.; three brothers, Roe Whitfield of Norfork, Levi Whitfield of Saratoga, N.Y., and Dean Whitfield of Brumley, Mo.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial services for John Edward Cross, 54, of Story will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Wold officiating. Viewing will be 3-8 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Cross died April 24, 2008, in an accident. Cremation has taken place. He was born Dec. 10, 1953, in Sheridan to John and Betty Cross. He attended schools in Wyoming and Montana and graduated in 1972 from Colstrip (Mont.) High School. He worked as a high-tech mechanic, shop mechanic, construction mechanic and, for the last 10 years, as a mechanic in the coal-bed methane fields, mostly in Sheridan and Campbell counties. He graduated in 1986 from aviation mechanic's school in Denver. He was a fourth-generation Wyomingite and enjoyed outdoor activities including camping and four-wheeling. Survivors include his mother of Story; a daughter, Courtney Cross of Sheridan; and a brother, Michael of Story.
Memorial services for Ida J. Umphenour, 95, of Big Horn will be later in Springfield, Ore. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Umphenour died April 25, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1912, in Beverly, Neb., to William J. and Hanna (Dorn) Alberts. She grew up and attended schools in Beverly. She was confirmed into Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ash Grove, Neb., on June 27, 1926. She married Donald W. Umphenour on Dec. 14, 1931, near Ash Grove on the family farm. They moved to Springfield in 1932. Mr. Umphenour owned and operated a barber shop there until 1986, when he died. Mrs. Umphenour worked at the Eugene Cannery until her retirement. She was a 4-H leader for many years and enjoyed travel and growing vegetables and flowers. She moved to Big Horn in 2004 to be near her daughter. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Herman; a half brother, George Sanders; two half sisters, Marie Janssen and Idella Mart; and a granddaughter. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Flanagan of Big Horn and Sandra Sanders of Florida; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
BUFFALO Carma Campbell Kostenbauer, 94, of Buffalo died April 26, 2008, in Johnson County Health Care Center in Buffalo. Jake Zier, 76, of Hardin, Mont., died April 22, 2008 in Hardin. He was father of Randy Zier of Sheridan and Roger Zier of Ranchester. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bullis Funeral Chapel in Hardin. Burial with military honors will be in Hardin Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Zier was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Hardin to Henry and Katherine Kern Zier. He grew up and was educated in the Hardin area. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Big Horn County, Mont. He farmed in the Garryowen area for 16 years before beginning a career as maintenance man for the county. He retired in 1994 after 14 years of service. He married Hazel Faught on Sept. 6, 1964, in Lodge Grass, Mont. The couple resided in Hardin. Mr. Zier enjoyed riding horses, playing cards, word searches and puzzles, family gatherings on holidays and special occasions, and visiting with his sons. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Doris Sheldon, Betty Findley, Janet Colden and Millie Nelson; and four brothers, Bobby, Roy, Wilbur and Henry Zier Jr. In addition to his sons, survivors include his wife; three sisters, Margaret Howe, Marilyn Peterson and Shirley Cathy; a brother, Ron; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
William Bradford DeMond, 86, of Sheridan died April 18, 2008, in Westview Health Care Center. A memorial service will be later, and family members will scatter his cremains on Mount Oberlin in Montana's Glacier National Park. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Dr. DeMond was born July 7, 1921, in Greenfield, Mass., to Charles Harrison and Marion (Avery) Demond. He grew up and attended schools in Greenfield and graduated from the Deerfield Academy, Swarthmore College and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. (He later changed his name to use an upper-case M.) He served in the Air Force from 1947-50 and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska. After service, he practiced internal medicine for 40 years at Kaiser Permanente and, later, Sheridan VA Medical Center. He married Margaret Virginia Weber on June 9, 1949, in Denver. He was an avid reader with special interest in American history. Survivors include his wife, one son, three daughters and five grandchildren.
BUFFALO Richard Reginald Smiley Peters, 71, of Buffalo died April 20, 2008, in Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo. Sheridan native Melinda Kaye Pitsch, 45, of Buffalo died in her sleep April 19, 2008, of natural causes. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with the Rev. Duane Simonson officiating. Visitation is 2-8 p.m. today in Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Pitsch was born Nov. 26, 1962, in Sheridan to Curt and Muffy Pitsch. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan and confirmed at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Buffalo. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1981. She enjoyed working with animals and was active in FFA and 4-H judging. As an adult, she worked for Oftedal Construction. She was engaged to Mark Glatter at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeff. Survivors include two sons, Dustin and Spencer Fry; her parents; three sisters, Wendy Benade, Teri Thaemert and Shelly Poirot; and her grandmother Helen Lusher. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery following services Thursday. Mrs. Aggers died April 18, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born July 28, 1926, in Miles City, Mont., to Alphons and Gladys (Welch) Schaut. She grew up and attended schools in Miles City and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1944. She married John Aggers on May 18, 1946, in Miles City. They lived in Miles City, Anaconda, Mont., and Billings before moving to Sheridan in 1956. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and Elks Auxiliary, past member of the Jaycees, and a former stockholder in the Golden Steer restaurant. She enjoyed bowling, camping, gardening and working in her yard, and the company of her dog, Abby. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, three sisters and one brother. Survivors include two sons, Allan of Bartlesville, Okla., and Gordon of Sheridan; three daughters, Annette Rockas and Julie Kennedy, both of Sheridan, and Cindy Larson of Billings; two sisters, Dorothy Madson of Sheridan and Carol Schaut of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Buckley died April 17, 2008, at his residence. He was born March 23, 1939, in Sheridan to John and Jennie (Green) Buckley. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 until 1981, then worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years until retiring in 2001. He held various positions in the postal workers' union. He married Peggy MacCatherine on Dec. 23, 1961. He enjoyed shopping on e-Bay and attending garage sales and auctions. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shannon Hugs and Kelley Buckley; a sister, Pat Chappell; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Hanna Sian Lee, 16-month-old daughter of Zemin and Candida R. (Burgess) Lee, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at her family's home in Casper. She was great-granddaughter of Virginia Burgess and Paul and Ginger Lacek, all of Sheridan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Park Community Church. Viewing will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Hanna enjoyed reading books, dancing, talking on the telephone and tigers. Other survivors include maternal grandparents, Jim and Pattie Burgess of Midwest; and paternal grandparents, Seounghee Lee and Hyaunhee Cho, and great-grandparents, Youngae Lee and Hunnim Yim, all of Incheon, South Korea.

Esther L. Mitch Norris, 70, of Sheridan died Thursday, April 10, 2008. Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned, according to her family. Mrs. Norris was born Feb. 25, 1938, in Lawrenceville, Ill., to Lucille and Charles Byrley. She moved to Sheridan in 1995 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Chris McEdward, and three sons, Rick DeTar, Rex Davenport and Jay Thompson, all of Sheridan; a sister, Wanda Amos of Jay, Okla.; two brothers, Jim Byrley of Afton, Okla., and Larry Byrley of Mounds, Okla.; four grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Harry D. Cohn, 80, of Powell died April 6, 2008, in Powell Valley Hospital of natural causes. He was brother of Hanley Cohn of Sheridan. Memorial services were April 11 in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Cody. Arrangements were with Thompson Funeral Home. Mr. Cohn was born Aug. 28, 1927, to Pearl and Hanley Cohn. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service as an assistant engineer for 35 years. He was transferred to the SCS in Powell in 1970. A member of Jehovah's Witnesses, he served as an elder in the Sheridan and Powell areas. He enjoyed the outdoors, carpentry, and playing golf. Other survivors include his wife, Jane L. (Cline) Cohn; two daughters, Barbara and Deborah; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Former Sheridan resident Genevieve Rains, 90, of Tillamook, Ore., died April 10, 2008, in Portland, Ore., according to her family. She was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Groom, Texas. She married Leon Rains. They lived in Decker, Mont., until 1949, when they moved to Sheridan. They lived in Sheridan until 1975, when they moved to Tillamook. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include two sons, Alvin of Reno, Nev., and Lester Bud of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Doris Rains of Portland; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Dorothy M. Green, 81, of Sheridan and Ashland, Mont., died April 16, 2008, in Sheridan Manor. Arrangements are pending with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Former Sheridan resident Murilyn Lee Kagel, 69, of Laramie died April 16, 2008, at his residence after a battle with cancer, according to his family. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. April 26 in the Laramie cemetery followed by a celebration of his life at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 1517 Canby St., in Laramie. Mr. Kagel was born July 5, 1938, in Mobridge, S.D., to Howard and Orvilla (Deno) Kagel. The family moved to Laramie when he was a child, and he attended elementary through high school there. He worked with his father in the masonry business as a young man. He joined the Army in 1958, then served with the 1022nd Engineers unit with the National Guard when he returned from active duty. He spent seven years with the National Guard. He married Beverly Gilbert on April 25, 1960. He was recalled to active duty during the Berlin crisis in 1961. During this time, he received the Army Sharp Shooters medal. After returning from service, he began a lifelong career in highway and mine construction. He helped build Interstate 80 past Arlington and Elk Mountain and worked for Peter Kiewit & Sons for 25 years. He enjoyed taking his children hunting, fishing and camping, teaching his grandchildren to fish, playing dice, fishing and rock-hunting trips with friends, and summer trips to Deadwood, S.D., with his family. He was a member of the Eagles for more than 10 years. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick and Kevin; a daughter Sue (Kagel) Meredith; a brother, Ron of Laramie; two sisters, Jerrie Rippetoe of Great Falls, Mont., and Carol Iiams of Lander; two granddaughters; and two step-grandchildren. Donations may be made in his name to First Baptist Church or the hospice, both of Laramie.
Graveside services for Eula Mae Anderson, 79, of Sheridan and Buffalo will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Mrs. Anderson died April 13, 2008, in Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place under direction of Kane Funeral Home. She was born July 20, 1928, in Cheyenne to Lola Lorraine and Glen A. Ayres. She began working at age 14, breaking horses for area ranches. She later was farm matron at the Wyoming Girls School in Sheridan and drove a taxi. She started the first culinary union in Casper. She married Clinton Andy Anderson on June 26, 1954, in Sheridan. They were the last operators of the Sundown Cafe in Sheridan. They bought the Lariat Cafe in Buffalo in 1959 and operated it until the 1970s. Mrs. Anderson worked for several restaurants in Buffalo until she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Helen Morris; and a brother, Martin Ayres. Survivors include two children, Jeri Sheperd of Sheridan and Steve Anderson of Ten Sleep; two brothers, Daniel and Gaylord Ayres, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Jean Rose of Alliance, Neb., and JoAnn Bybee of Gillette; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
James Lee Moore, 47, of Worland died April 11, 2008, from cardiac complications. He was father of Travis Moore of Sheridan. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at St. Mary Magdalen's Catholic Church in Worland. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Jim Heiser officiating. Arrangements are with Bryant Funeral Home in Worland. Mr. Moore was born April 1, 1961 in Dickinson, N.D., to Jesse J. and Marlene A. (Martin) Moore. The family moved to Worland in 1964. Mr. Moore attended St. Mary Magdalen's Catholic School until fifth grade. He was a 1979 graduate of Worland High School. He played football in high school and drove a school bus for three years. He received a football scholarship to Snow College and played two years for the Badgers. He earned a degree in welding in 1981. After college, he worked in the oil fields for Leonard Pierce and Exeter Oil Co. in Worland. He also worked for LK trucking and, in 1987, started 3 J's Welding with his father and brother. In 2003, he purchased Goose's Liquor and was also part owner of the Big Horn Bar in Ten Sleep. In recent years he farmed and raised horses at the Iron Rose Ranch. He married Patricia Smith in 1985; they were divorced. He married Dru Bower on Oct. 8, 2005, in Worland. A member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion, he enjoyed snowmobiling, his cabin in the mountains, travel, golf, and his dog, Jake II. In addition to his son, survivors include his wife, daughter Danielle Earl, his parents, brother Jay and sister Jeralyn Frederick, all of Worland, and two grandchildren. Eula Mae Anderson, 79, of Sheridan and Buffalo, died April 13, 2008, at Sheridan Manor. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Willow Grove Cemetery, Buffalo, with Tom Saur officiating. Cremation arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home.
Stanley McBride Plott, 85, of Sheridan died April 11, 2008, at Sheridan VA Medical Center. At his request, no services are planned. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Plott was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Acme to Joseph and Martha Plott. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941 and served as a B-24 gunner during World War II. He graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science degree in law. He married Janette Fairbank on Feb. 21, 1947, in Laramie. He worked at several jobs, including insurance salesman, railroad crewman and alcoholism counselor. He also owned a ceramic shop. He enjoyed lapidary work, fly-tying, hunting, fishing and keeping up with global economics. He also liked dachshunds. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Maurice and Glenn. Survivors include his wife; his children, Diane Hawkins of Long Beach, Wash., Cynthia Misty Plott-Barbula and Lynne Skaggs, both of Sheridan, and Bruce of Evanston; and five grandchildren. Memorial services for Phyllis L. MacCatherine, 87, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. May 31 in First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery under direction of Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. MacCatherine died April 9, 2008, in Westview Health Care Center. She was born May 9, 1920, in Rochester, Minn., to John and Anna Olson. She graduated from high school in Mitchell, S.D., then moved to Sheridan with her sister. She married Frederick Ridle; they were divorced. She married C.H. MacCatherine on Dec. 29, 1952. She worked as a dental assistant to R.A. Carroll for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Charlotte. Survivors include two daughters, Jane Adams and Anna Sparks; three stepchildren; six grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Jeanne Isham Shirley Scott, 74, of Dayton will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Scott Bicentennial Park in Dayton. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Scott died April 10, 2008. Cremation has taken place. She was born July 4, 1933, in Wray, Colo., to George and Ruth Isham. She grew up in Wray and attended Colorado State University. She married Dan Scott, and they ranched on the Tongue River east of Ranchester before moving to their home near Dayton. Mrs. Scott spent nearly 35 years, until her health forced her to retire, driving from the Padlock Ranch to Sheridan to pick up parts, supplies and groceries needed by the ranch. She was a volunteer member of many organizations and enjoyed the company of her guard dog, Brie. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Randy of Billings and Ron of Sheridan; three daughters, Riki Davidson of Parkman, Risa Scott of Orange, Calif., and Trink Morss of Dayton; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Sheridan-native Earl M. Bud Lewis, 73, of Westminister, Colo., died March 14, 2008, in St. Anthony's Central Hospital in Denver after a long illness. Services were in St. Mark's Catholic Church in Westminister. Burial was in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver with military honors by the U.S. Army. Mr. Lewis grew up in Sheridan. He was a graduate of Holy Name and Sheridan High schools. He served with the Army on the Panama Canal during the Korean War. He worked 40 years as an engineer with Gates Rubber Co. of Denver. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; four children; a sister, Lynn Baccari of Sheridan; and seven grandchildren.
Delores J. Briscoe, 73, Sheridan, died April 9, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. No services are planned. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Born May 2, 1934, in Harrison, Neb., to Alfred James and Wilhamina Anna (Thayer) Pullen, she grew up and attended school through ninth grade in Harrison and later earned her General Equivalency Diploma. She married David Pete Briscoe on June 18, 1949, in Harrison. She was a homemaker and owner of an upholstery shop and Briscoe Auctioneering Sales. She also was a rehabilitation trainer for RENEW in Sheridan, a counselor with Piedmont Psychological Practice and Thunderbird Treatment Center, and had worked at the Branding Iron Cafe in Dayton. In later years she was a senior companion at Sheridan Senior Center. She was a 4-H leader for 15 years in Manville, a participant in the Legend of the Rawhide Pageant in Lusk, president of Dayton School Benefit Club, and an organizer and participant in Dayton Fire and Rescue Auxiliary. She also helped beautify Dayton Cemetery. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, card playing, and bingo. A son and a granddaughter preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of Dayton; a son, Roy Briscoe of Rio Rancho, N.M.; a foster son, David Stallman of Sheridan; a daughter, Ronda Briscoe of Sheridan; four sisters, LaDonna Foley of Dayton, Bertha Farrington of Torrington, Caroline Riggs of Parkman, and Betty Murray of Alliance, Neb.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Joseph M. Joe Krezelok, 91, Greybull, brother of Margaret Ellenwood of Banner, died April 9, 2008, at Washakie Medical Center in Worland. Viewing is 5-7 p.m. today at Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull with rosary following at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greybull, the Rev. Michael Ehiemere officiating. A graveside service follows at Hillside Cemetery in Greybull with Greybull Elks Lodge officiating, followed by a reception at Greybull Elks Lodge. Born March 7, 1917, on a Piney Creek ranch near Sheridan to Michael Joseph and Hedwik (Rucki) Krezelok, he grew up near Sheridan and attended Stone School on Piney Creek. He married Helen Marylin Wolney on June 22, 1941, in Monarch. They moved to Greybull, where Mr. Krezelok worked 37 years for Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 1978. He served many years as a trustee of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also belonged to Knights of Columbus, Greybull Elks Lodge, and Basin Eagles. He enjoyed playing cards, walking, gardening, fishing, hunting, the Big Horn Mountains, calling bingo for the lodges, and spending time with his grandsons. He and his wife traveled extensively, including to all 50 states. He was known for his willingness to help. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannine Septer; four sisters, Anne Fairbank, Hedwik and Mary Miech, and Helen Slater; and two brothers, Frank and Mike Bill Krezelok. In addition to his sister, survivors include his wife; a daughter, Joan Krezelok of Casper; two grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sheridan native Edward Lee Ed Husman, 76, of Worland died April 9, 2008, in Washakie Medical Center in Worland following a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church in Worland with the Rev. Andrea Hinderaker officiating. Cremains will be scattered in the summer. Arrangements are with Veile Mortuary of Worland. Mr. Husman was born Sept. 30, 1931, in Sheridan to Oscar E. and Rose M. (Peril) Husman. The family moved to Belen, N.M., when he was 6 years old, and he grew up and graduated from high school there. He attended college for two years in Albuquerque, N.M. He began a career in radio broadcasting in 1949 in Dalhart, Texas. He returned to Sheridan in 1952. He married Marilyn M. Truitt on June 6, 1954, in Sheridan. He was drafted into the Army in 1955 and served until 1959. While in the Army, he became an electronics instructor and worked on the Nike missile projects in New York and at Fort Bliss, Texas. The family moved to Worland, where he worked for KWOR Radio for a year, then moved to Cody in 1962. While in Cody, Mr. Husman was an announcer and technician for KODI Radio as well as a Little League coach. He moved to Rawlins 1974 and worked as manager of KRAL Radio. He was president of Rawlins United Way for several years. The Husmans returned in 1982 to Worland, where he worked for KWOR/KENB. Mr. Husman and his wife operated a candy and tobacco store, Center Stage, in the old Kerby theater building for 12 years. Mr. Husman was a member of First Presbyterian Church, was church choir director for a number of years, and served as a church deacon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying airplanes, racing cars and building wooden doll houses and toys for his grandchildren. He had played trumpet in several local bands. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a son, Kenneth Rick Husman, in 2003. Survivors include his wife; a son, William Perry Husman of Valencia, Calif.; two daughters, Vikki Lynn Williams of Valencia and Karen Kay Williamson of Weslaco, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Sheridan native Ralph Fay Green, 89, of Florence, Mont., died April 6, 2008, at his residence. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. April 26 at the family residence on Sun Valley Road. Participants are asked to bring Ralph stories or e-mail stories to Gaylord@aol.com for inclusion, according to his family, which is handling arrangements. Mr. Green was born July 24, 1918, in Sheridan. He attended Meade Creek Elementary School and was a 1936 graduate of Sheridan High School. Shortly after graduation, he went to work on the CB&Q Railroad as a brakeman. He was later promoted to conductor. He served in Okinawa and Korea during World War II as a staff sergeant. He moved to Montana in April 1948 and purchased a ranch, the Broken Heart, which he operated as a dude ranch and hunting lodge. He began raising shorthorn cattle in 1956 in Superior, Mont., and served as local veterinarian and taxidermist. He married Donna Blum Jayne Green on Feb. 20, 1961, in Sheridan. He bought the Sweet Rest Motel in Missoula, Mont., in 1966. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and horses. His motel featured many North American game trophies, including a 10-foot Kodiak brown bear, which Mr. Green or members of his family had taken in hunting and which were mounted by Mr. Green. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Carl, both of Sheridan, and two sisters. Survivors include his wife; children Gaylord Green, Shirley Cannon, Tim Green, Terry Wayman, Todd Green, Quayne Green and Kimbra Green; two sisters, Lenora and Mary; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

They later moved to Sheridan. Mr. Kober died in 1998. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Brennan. Survivors include two sons, Michael of Billings and Mark of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Cheryl Stringer of Buffalo; a sister, Patricia Zimmerman of Cheyenne; four brothers, James and Dennis Brennan, both of Sheridan, Jerry Brennan of Taviona, Utah, and Robert Brennan of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kaufman died April 1, 2008, at her residence. She was born June 13, 1917, to Marshall and Martha Mitchell. She married William Kaufman on Sept. 20, 1936, in Hardin, Mont. They retired in Dayton in 1975. Mrs. Kaufman was a school cafeteria manager for more than 20 years. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Janeva Chapline. Survivors include a son, David of Sheridan; a daughter, Muriel Bowen of Denton, Texas; two brothers, Chuck and Kenneth Mitchell of Sheridan; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ringley died April 1, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born June 7, 1918, on the Home Ranch in Sheridan to Richard and Mayme (DeJarnette) Thomas. The family moved to Osage and, later, Colorado Springs, Colo., but returned to Sheridan when she was 6. She attended Coffeen, Central and Hill schools and graduated from Sheridan High School in 1937. She went to work at Stevens Fryberger. She married Roy Ringley on Nov. 21, 1937. Mr. Ringley worked in the trucking industry, and they lived in several communities. Mrs. Ringley worked at different department stores, including 19 years with Ronzone's Department Store later purchased by Dillard's in Las Vegas. They moved back to Sheridan permanently in 1990. Mrs. Ringley and her husband enjoyed traveling in their camper, as well as trips to Hawaii, Alaska and England. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Presbyterian Ladies Circle. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Florence Petrie; and brothers Dean and Wendell Thomas. Survivors include a son, Tom of Big Horn; two daughters, Nancy Kelly of Reno, Nev., and Susan Farnsworth of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Norma Harriet Fuglem Dronen, 94, of Moorhead, Minn., died March 10, 2008, in Golden Living Center in Moorhead. She was the mother of Narleen Engel of Sheridan. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead, followed by burial at 3 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Sharon, N.D. Mrs. Dronen was born June 10, 1913, to Gerhard and Severine (Lunde) Fuglem on the family farm near Aneta, N.D. She grew up and was educated in the Aneta area. She was a member of West Union Lutheran Church in rural Northwood, N.D. She married Arthur E. Dronen on May 10, 1941. They farmed in the Sharon area. They retired in 1968 and moved to Moorhead, where Mrs. Dronen worked for Plunketts Furniture. Mr. Dronen died in January 1983. Mrs. Dronen moved into Golden Living Center in November 2002. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Gene and Sherman; a sister, Cora Moe; and three brothers, Gene, Harris and an infant who died at birth. Survivors include a son, Norman of Buxton, N.D.; two other daughters, Dorothy Skalicky of Moorhead and Annette Tronson of Buxton; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She grew up and graduated from high school in California. She married John Craig on Aug. 16, 1939. They lived in Whittier, Calif., where Mrs. Craig drove a school bus, until they retired and moved to Kalispell, Mont. They later moved to Sheridan to be near their son. Mr. Craig died in 2000. Mrs. Craig enjoyed hiking, berry-picking, shopping for antiques, attending Indian powwows, socializing, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Valley Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Roy, and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include a son, James of Sheridan; a daughter, Linda Kirkwood of Kalispell; a brother, Lon Curtis of Boise, Idaho; a sister, Gail Ryan of Rosamond, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and worked for the Kettering (Ohio) School District. She enjoyed reading, gardening and travel. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and a granddaughter. Rosemond Glendy, 76, Lusk, mother of Kelly Glendy of Sheridan, died March 7, 2008, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Born in Crawford, Neb., to Charles and Florence Thomas, she married William Bill Glendy on Aug. 19, 1950, in Crawford. Mrs. Glendy worked as a cook in Chadron, Neb., for the Job Corps; as secretary of Rings By United, at a dental office, and for a youth bowling coordinator; as an Avon consultant; a caregiver; and activities coordinator for the Senior Center, Sunshine Center, and Sunshine Tours. A Cub Scout leader, she was also a member of the Catholic Church, Eagles, Does, hospital auxiliary, and Rawhide Jamboree. She enjoyed music, travel, crafts, and bowling. In addition to her son, survivors include a daughter, Donna Dooley of Spring Creek, Nev.; a stepbrother, Richard Thomas of New York City; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; an aunt; an uncle; a niece; two nephews; and numerous cousins.
