Fauntella (Dedman) Bumbaca, 91, of Clearmont died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of natural causes. At her request, cremation has taken place. A memorial reception will be 1-4 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Elks Lodge in Sheridan. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Bumbaca was born May 2, 1915, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Dick and May Dedman. She moved to Forsyth, Mont., in 1918 and lived there until 1932 when she graduated from high school. She received a teacher's certificate from Billings Normal School and taught in several country schools in Montana. She married James Jimmy Bumbaca on Dec. 29, 1939, in Lewistown, Mont. She taught school in Montana for 40 years, including schools at Smith Creek, Pine Butte, Lodge Grass, Forsyth and Belfry. In the mid-1950s, while teaching at Lodge Grass,she was honored at an education meeting in Denver for developing a program for non-English speaking children entering first grade. She moved to Sheridan in the late 1970s after retiring. She worked at Wilson Veterinary Clinic and took in many geriatric dogs and cats unwanted by their previous owners. On many occasions, she kept turkeys, chickens, lambs, rabbits or calves in her spare bedroom. She moved back to Belfry in 1990, then moved to her son's ranch in Clearmont last spring. She enjoyed her schnauzer, Bridget, and Mustang cars. In 2000, she bought a blue Mustang, then bought a gray Mustang shortly before her 90th birthday. Survivors include one son, Richard of Clearmont; a daughter, Nancy Perey of Billings; a sister, Mary Ann Sherman of Forsyth; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to any animal protection organization or animal shelter.
A private family memorial service for Betty M. Ruff, 86, of Sheridan will be at a later date. Mrs. Ruff died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, in Westview Health Care Center. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Ruff was born April 19, 1920, in Casper to Clifford M. and Marie MacCatherine. She graduated from Sheridan High School. She married Kenneth Ruff on Aug. 2, 1941, in Sheridan. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she played in the handbell choir for many years, and the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed knitting, handwork, music and reading. She was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and a grandson. Survivors include her husband, of Sheridan; a daughter, Nancy R. Fowkes of Danville, Calif.; two sons, David of Sheridan and James B. of Longmont, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial services for Theodore Ted Kristy, 84, of Sheridan will be at a later date. Mr. Kristy died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Kristy was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Dietz to Peter and Regina Kristy. He worked for many years at Legerski's Meat Co. until he retired. He enjoyed playing the accordion, watching baseball and football games, spending time in the Big Horn Mountains and going to the Sheridan Senior Citizens Center. He was a resident of the Downer Addition before moving to Sheridan Manor. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Reed, and three brothers, Joseph Pete, John and Stanley. Survivors include a sister, Theresa M. Rodgers of Martinez, Calif., and nieces and nephews. May D. Little, 96, of Sheridan died this morning, Dec. 29, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place, and services will be at a later date in Oklahoma. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home.
Michael Shawn Ruiz, 30, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident Tuesday between Buffalo and Gillette. Viewing will be 4-7 p.m. today at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Bill Morel, pastor of the Family Life Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Mr. Ruiz was born April 7, 1976, in Gillette to Manuel and Vickie Ruiz. He grew up and attended school in Gillette. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed being with children, especially his own. He had recently moved to Sheridan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include two children, Tallie and Keegan Mehlberg, both of Gillette; his father, of Sheridan; his mother, of Gillette; a brother, Shane Shipley of Gillette; a sister, Misti Ruiz of Sheridan; a stepsister, Sara Bieber of Sheridan; and a stepbrother, Jordan Bieber of Sheridan. David H. Carter, 62, of Sheridan died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, in the Sheridan VA Medical Center. No services are planned, but friends and acquaintances may visit Kane Funeral Home between 1 and 8 p.m. Friday to sign a guest book in memory of Mr. Carter. He was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Sheridan to Harland Slim and Kathryn Carter. He completed his high school education in Grand Junction, Colo., then enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam during the mid-1960s. He received a Purple Heart. He spent many years in Louisiana working on an offshore oil platform before moving back to Sheridan a few years ago. Survivors include his mother, Kathryn Carter Brown; two brothers, Richard and Ronald; and a sister, Christine.
Margaret Hillberry, 79, of Sheridan died Monday, Dec. 26, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Visitation is until 4 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Mrs. Summers died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born April 21, 1941, in Detroit. She married Richard L. Dick Summers in 1961 in Las Cruces, N.M. She was preceded in death by a brother. Survivors include her husband, of Sheridan; a son, Sam T. of Sheridan; a daughter, Suzanne Gillum of Gillette; a sister, Uldine Hendricks of Las Cruces; and two grandchildren. Graveside services for Willie Ferne Cook, 90, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Friday in the East Lawn Cemetery in Denver under direction of Oligner-Hampden Mortuary of Denver. Mrs. Cook died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, in Westview Health Care Center. Local arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Cook was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Bronte, Coke County, Texas, to Drewery Fredrick and Josie Lee (Thompson) Pruitt. She grew up and attended schools in Rush Springs, Okla. She was a graduate of Rush Springs High School. She married Cecil L. Cook on Jan. 23, 1937, in Rush Springs. They lived in Houston until June 1952, when they moved to Casper. They moved to Denver in June 1965. Mrs. Cook moved to Sheridan in June 2000. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Denver and Casper. She enjoyed music, crafts and spending time with her family. She and her husband enjoyed traveling around the world. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son. Survivors include a daughter, L. Roxanne Mires of Sheridan; a brother, Garland Pruitt of Liberty, Mo.; a sister, Dorothy Vice of Denver; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Harold D. Mauck, 85, of Buffalo died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was father of Starr O'Dell of Sheridan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Bob McHenry officiating. Viewing will be 1-9 p.m. Wednesday and 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Military graveside services in Willow Grove Cemetery will follow the services. Mr. Mauck was born April 12, 1921, in Scottsbluff, Neb., to Ira and Mildred Mauck. He married Marjorie E. Finley on July 7, 1942, in Buffalo. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe from 1942-45. He drove trucks for many years and owned and operated a motel and service station in Buffalo. He was a retired judge. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, reading and spending summers at his home in the mountains. He was preceded in death by a brother. Other survivors include his wife, of Buffalo; a son, Gary of Buffalo; another daughter, Dawn Leyden of Denver; four brothers, Eugene of Corydon, Ind., Darrell and Dennis, both of Buffalo, and Terry of Oregon; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Judith Burgess Ward, 67, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, after a battle with chronic obtrusive pulmonary disease and lung cancer. At her request, no services are planned, but a gathering for friends and family will take place in June in northwestern Colorado. Those who wish to attend are asked to call her son, Doug, at (208) 762-7107 or e-mail dkplus2@verizon.net. Mrs. Ward was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Laramie to Gerry and Lucille Burgess. She was a graduate of Cody High School, where she was valedictorian, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in languages in 1961 from the University of Wyoming. After graduation, she moved to Denver, where she worked as a legal secretary. She married John Ward in 1963. She was a leading figure in the early conservation movement in Colorado in the 1970s, according to her family. She was a vice president of the Denver Audubon Society and a board member of the Colorado Open Space Council, a leader and newsletter editor for the Denver Field of Ornithologists, led field trips for the Denver Museum of Natural History (now the Denver Museum of Nature and Science), and organized and led Christmas and spring bird counts in Colorado and Wyoming. She contributed to state studies of bird distribution, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service breeding bird surveys, and the Colorado Breeding Bird Atlas. Survivors include her husband; her son of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; a daughter, Marcy of Colby, Kan.; a sister, Donna McMurry of Alcova; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bighorns or the Nature Conservancy.
Former Sheridan-area resident Craig C. O'Brien Sr., 83, Midwest, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Cheyenne Regional Hospital. A celebration of his life will take place 3:30 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home. Born July 6, 1923, in Wall, S.D., he grew up in the Sisseton, S.D., area and served in the military from 1943 to 1947. He married Mary Marie Maynard on Nov. 11, 1957, in Redondo Beach, Calif., where he worked as a painter. She preceded him in death. Mr. O'Brien moved to this area and worked on several ranches. He married Dennise Willette. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching boxing, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patsy Crouse and Susan O'Brien, both of Midwest; a son, Craig C. O'Brien Jr. of Sheridan; two stepsons, Chester C. Burton of Cody and Lawrence Willette of Deer Lodge, Mont.; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The funeral home is accepting contributions to defray expenses.

Robert H. Weber, 78, of Sheridan died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, in Sheridan VA Medical Center. Cremation has taken place, and private graveside services are planned. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Weber was born April 7, 1928, in Big Horn to Max and Irene (Hayes) Weber. He enlisted in the Navy on Nov. 9, 1947, and served on the USS Piedmont. He was honorably discharged Oct. 11, 1949. He spent most of his life ranching in the Cheyenne area. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by a son, Butch, and by three sisters, Betty Weese, Maxine Brent and Kay Allen. Survivors include a sister, Ilene Wolfe of Sheridan, and a brother, Raymond of Junction City, Kan. Funeral services for Janice L. Westphal, 79, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Worship Center with the Rev. Scott Lee officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery under direction of Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Westphal died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 25, 1927, in Carbondale, Pa., to Jack and Alice (Pierce) Gilgallon. She grew up in Carbondale and was a 1946 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. She attended one semester at Mary Mount College in Scranton, Pa., before going overseas to perform for troops in United Service Organizations' camp shows during World War II. She was a charter member of the World War II Memorial Society. She married Bill Tiberio in 1947 in Elkton, Md. They divorced. She married Edward F. Westphal in 1966 in Chicago. She was a professional dancer and musician for most of her life, earning listings in the Chicago newspaper's entertainment news in the 1950s and '60s. She was a member of First Christian Church of Glen Ellyn, Ill., where she directed a band of children and adults. Todd Beamer, a passenger on United Flight 93, which went down in Pennsylvania on 9/11, was a member of her children's church band, according to her family. She began a puppet ministry at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Addison, Ill. She also produced videos for cable television at Wheaton (Ill.) Community Television. She produced several videos on Wyoming, including as subjects the Historic Sheridan Inn, ostrich ranching, the Bradford Brinton Memorial, and a buffalo ranch, for which she received an award in 1994. A few years before moving to Wyoming, she was drummer for the Retired Rhythm Rascals, touring with the band in the Chicago area. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include two daughters, Stacie (Tiberio) Boehm of Sheridan and Bonnie (Tiberio) Davidson of Streamwood, Ill.; a sister, Claire Morris of Arlington, Va.; a brother, John Gilgallon of Geneva, Ill.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Kathleen I. Hardesty, 75, of Wyarno will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Derryberry officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Viewing will be 1-6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hardesty died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, in Westview Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Sheridan to Michael and Anna (Krayanna) Suel. She grew up in the area and graduated from Sheridan High School. She married James Hardesty on May 4, 1952, in Sheridan. They traveled on construction jobs for Peter Kiewit. In 1966, they began ranching on Prairie Dog Creek, then moved to a ranch on Dutch Creek. Mrs. Hardesty ranched until 2002, when she retired. She was a founding member of Sheridan County Equestrianettes, a women's sidesaddle organization. A highlight for her was when the organization participated in the Rose Parade in California. Mrs. Hardesty enjoyed chariot racing, gardening, bowling and spending time with her horses, her black cows and her German shepherd dog. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001 and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include two sons, James of Wyarno and Michael of Livingston, Mont.; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Memorials may be made to Elks Lodge 520, P.O. Funeral services for Shawn D. Brown, 29, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Lee officiating. Mr. Brown died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born Oct. 14, 1977, in Cheyenne to Roy Taylor and Rhonda Brown. He grew up in several towns in Wyoming including Cheyenne and Sheridan. He was a 1995 graduate of Cheyenne High School Three. He married Lily Harris in August 1997 in Cheyenne. They were divorced in August 1999. Mr. Brown worked methane wells for Bronco Drilling, then was a truck driver for IPG from March until May, when he had a motorcycle accident. He went to work for Mister Well Service in October. He enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos and being with his children. He was the companion of Amanda Mills. He was preceded in death by a sister, Christina. Survivors include two sons, Mason T. of Cheyenne and Dakota D. of Ranchester; a daughter, Christina R. of Sheridan; his mother of Stanford, Ky.; a brother, Carl Wickline of Stanford; a grandmother, Gloria Buckner of Stanford; and a grandfather, Edward Brown of Murray, Tenn. Betty J. Honeycutt, 71, of Riverton died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at her residence. She was mother of Linda O'Doan of Sheridan. No services are planned. Arrangements are with David Funeral Home Inc. of Riverton. Mrs. Honeycutt was born July 7, 1935, in Riverton to Pete and Flaudie (Hicks) Todd. She attended Riverton schools. She married Arthur Dale Honeycutt on July 15, 1951, in Riverton. She was a homemaker and member of the Independent Baptist faith. She enjoyed arts, crafts and being outdoors. She and Mr. Honeycutt traveled and lived for a time in Casper before returning to Riverton, where they managed the Sertoma Apartments for 12 years. Survivors include her husband; a son, Garry of Beulah, Mich.; another daughter, Vicki Hanson of Riverton; a brother, Thomas S. Todd of Coupeville, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
BUFFALO Alice Cash, 75, of Buffalo died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, in Johnson County Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dana Lohse of All Souls Episcopal Church officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Private family burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery. Mr. Bennett died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at his residence. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Bennett was born Oct. 9, 1962, in Sheridan to William and Jean (Martini) Bennett. He was a 1981 graduate of Newcastle High School. He had worked for Plains Tire and Battery for the past 15 years. He enjoyed NASCAR, playing pool and dart ball and bowling. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Mike. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Judy, of Sheridan; two brothers, John of Sheridan and Rob of Green Bay, Wis.; and two stepsisters, Christy of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Sheryl of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Sheridan native Earl Leon Hepp, 76, of Buffalo died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Johnson County Health Care Center after a 14-year battle with Parkinson's disease. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel, Buffalo. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Wednesday and 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel with burial in Quiet Rest Cemetery in Kearney. Mr. Hepp was born July 13, 1930, in Sheridan to Karl and Dora Hepp. He grew up here and attended Sheridan High School. He worked on various ranches in Sheridan and Johnson County. He moved to Casper in 1948 and worked for Etlon/Peterson Construction. He married Patricia Weaver in Casper on Jan. 3, 1949. They resided on the family ranch in Kearney until 1968, when they sold to Reynolds Aluminum. Mr. Hepp operated Hepp Trucking in Sheridan until 1993, when he retired, and the Hepps moved to Buffalo. Mr. Hepp enjoyed horses and rodeos. He rode his horse, Splash, on his 75th birthday. He competed in rodeos in Sheridan, Ten Sleep and Buffalo in bareback riding, team roping and calf roping and won buckles in Century Roping events. He was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and Johnson County Farm Bureau and a former member of Sheridan Elks Club, Kearney School Board, and Kearney Cemetery Board. He served as treasurer for the Kearney Community Hall and at one time was deputized by Sheriff Beau Turk to help with the dances at Kearney. A brother, Zane, died in 2001. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill of Sheridan and John of Casper; a daughter, Diana Mader of Buffalo; and five grandchildren.

Albert M. Conrad, 88, of Riverton died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan, where he had resided since Nov. 15. A celebration of life will take place later with scattering of his cremains at his favorite hunting ground by Pilgrim Mountain. Born Aug. 5, 1918, in Montrose, Mo., to Albert and Sallie (Lawson) Conrad, he graduated from Montrose High school in 1936. In 1937, Mr. Conrad enrolled in the Missouri National Guard, where he became a Golden Glove Boxer. That year he also moved to Worland to work on the Holland Ranch and was hired at the Ken Noble Ranch in Jackson Hole. His next venture took him to Big Piney to work on the Link Shidler Ranch, where he began his fascination with heavy machinery. From 1938-1945 he worked for the Grazing Service around the Big Piney area as regional foreman. In 1945, he formed Conrad Construction in Marbleton. On March 1, 1946, in Washington state, he married Mary Elizabeth (Bette) Cooper of Pinedale. In 1954, they moved to Riverton to begin clearing cottonwoods for the Boysen Dam Reservoir. He also worked a short time for Federal American Partners in the Gas Hills uranium mine and for Midvale Irrigation. In 1960, he moved into Paradise Valley and later reopened Conrad Construction, operating it until 1992. He was a charter member of the Riverton Wildlife Association, a longtime member of the Black Horse Troop, Wyoming Wildlife Association, Outspoken Democrats, Shrine, Knights Templar, and a 50-year member of Pinedale Masonic Lodge 31. He went on safari with his son-in-law Joe Dennis to Zambia, where he bagged an African wart hog, kudo, and puku. He made the dream hunt by traveling on the now retired Concord aircraft. His wife died in 1990. Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Osborne of Sheridan, Sally Conrad of Cottonwood, Ariz., Connie Dennis of Visalia, Calif., and Gwen Schwab of Pinedale; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Lloyd Gray Hess, 76, Sheridan, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at Sheridan VA Medical Center of cancer. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Dec. 21 at Big Horn Mountain Eagles No. 4169 on Commercial Avenue. Born July 28, 1930, in Denton, Mont., to Cecil and May Helen (Gray) Hess, he enlisted in the Navy on Dec. 5, 1951, and served during the Korean War. An electrician on the USS Windham Bay, he was honorably discharged on Nov. 8, 1955. He married Peggy Reed on March 4, 1956, and they had three sons. They ranched and owned a trucking business in Harlowton, Mont., before divorcing. He married Bette Reimers on April 27, 1979. Mr. Hess worked as a truck driver and then a mechanic for Sheridan County for 16 years. He enjoyed travel, spending winters in Arizona with his second wife, fishing, and boating. He belonged to American Legion, Eagles, Elks, and Moose lodges. A brother Francis and a son David preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Casey Hess of Great Falls, Mont., and Timothy Hess of Reed Point, Mont.; three stepchildren, Bonnie Zowada of Lusk, Timothy Reimers of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tammy Heid of Big Horn; a brother, Cecil Hess of Atlanta; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Nathanial Lee Kelly, 45, of Sheridan died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at his residence. A private family viewing was Nov. 26 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. At Mr. Kelly's request, cremation has taken place. No services are planned. Mr. Kelly was born Aug. 11, 1961 in Sheridan to Ronald and Margaret Kelly. He grew up and attended schools in Buffalo and was a member of the National Guard from 1981-84. He worked as a laborer in construction, a gas station attendant, a geophone placement technician for various seismograph crews and, more recently, as a truck driver in a methane field. He enjoyed boating, motorcycling, camping with friends, music and being with his dog, Star, and his family. Survivors include his father of Sheridan; his mother and stepfather, Margaret J. and John L. Miller of Buffalo; and three brothers, Shawn, Shane and Shannon Kelly, all of Buffalo.

Janet Hamilton Orrell, 91, of Sheridan died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, in Sheridan Manor. At her request, cremation has taken place, and private services will be under direction of Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Orrell was born Jan. 30, 1915, to in Parton, Cumberland, England, to James and Sarah Carr Hamilton. She immigrated with her mother to Rock Springs in 1922 and attended Rock Springs High School graduating in 1932. She married John H. Orrell on July 3, 1936. He died June 20, 1992. Mrs. Orrell moved to Sheridan in 2002. She was an avid fisherman, puzzle worker and trivia and bingo player. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and two grandsons. Survivors include her son, Robert B. Bob of Sheridan; a brother, Donald of Rochester, Minn.; three grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Beverly Jean Steele, 72, of Gillette died Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, in Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette. She was mother of Michellene Bradshaw of Sheridan. Memorial services were this morning in Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, S.D., with Pastor Steve Trefz officiating. Inurnment will be in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Mrs. Steele was born July 29, 1934, in Stephan, S.D., to Grant Vernon and Esther Jane (Cunningham) Anderson. She attended school in Eagle Butte, S.D. She married Robert Dupris in Mobridge, S.D. The family lived in Eagle Butte. She married Wesley Steele in 1961. They lived in the Rapid City area. She moved to Gillette in 1993. She worked for the Department of Social Services in Rapid City from 1970 until 1982. After moving to Gillette, she worked as a clerk in convenience stores until 2001, when she retired. She enjoyed crochet and, in her younger years, fishing, planting flowers, gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelley Dupris; a stepson, William Steele; a sister, Norma Hertel; a grandson; and a great-grandson. Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenneth Steele of Gillette; three stepsons, Robert, Wesley and Thomas Steele, all of Rapid City; four additional daughters, Patricia Guettler and Sheila Steele, both of Gillette, Sherry Tuttle of Adrian, Mich., and Pamela Guettler of Spearfish, S.D.; two brothers, Leonard Anderson of Bloomington, Minn., and Kenneth Anderson of Piedmont, S.D.; three sisters, Maxine Bongard of Rapid City and JoAnne Martin and Joyce Peterson, both of Piedmont; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Ann Ligocki Struble on June 1, 1952, in Hardin, Mont. He worked at Big Horn Coal, Panetta's and, after the war, at Sheridan VA Medical Center for 34 years until 1980, when he retired. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife; four brothers, George, Jack, Bob and Eddie; four sisters, Mae Belmont, Marie Standish, Margaret Legerski and Florence Mullins; and a stepson, Leonard Struble. Survivors include a son, Ronald E. of Sheridan; a stepson, LeRoy Struble of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sisters, Betty Arzy of Sheridan and Pauline Washut of Bell, Calif.; four grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Prazma died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1916, in Madison, Wis., to John and Jennie (Sleckta) Prazma. He was a game warden and enforcement specialist for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department from 1954 until 1976, when he retired. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, and a granddaughter. Survivors include two sons, Larrie of Rock Springs and Roy of Sheridan; a daughter, Nina Lou Miller of Casper; and a sister, Alice Elder of Gillette.
Funeral services for Mario Joseph Remi Jacques Corriveau, 50, of Sheridan will be Wednesday in St.-Felix-De-Valois, Canada, under direction of F Theriault Funeral Home. A memorial service is planned for January in Sheridan. Mr. Corriveau died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, in a mining accident in Decker, Mont. He was born July 26, 1956, in St. Thomas, Joliet, Quebec, to Jacques and Jacline Goyette Corriveau. He was educated in Joliet. After his second year in college, he went to work on a ranch in Canada, then moved to the United States and worked on several ranches in Washington, Texas and Oklahoma before moving to the Sheridan area. He worked for the Padlock Ranch for several years. He was employed at the Spring Creek mine at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Guy. Survivors include his mother; two sisters, Mrtine Bond of Victoria, British Columbia, and Christine Corriveau of St. Thomas, Quebec; and a brother, Roch of St. Thomas, Quebec.
