William Gordon "B.G." Wondra, 49, of Sheridan died Feb. 25, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place at his request, and private services will be later. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Wondra was born Aug. 5, 1958, to William and Alberta Wondra of Sheridan. A 1976 graduate of Tongue River High School, he enjoyed fishing, camping, exploring the mountains, and his dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two sisters, Linda Kinter and Penny Wondra, both of Sheridan; and a brother, Al Yalowizer of South Dakota. Memorial services for Nina L. Sally Felde, 82, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Doug Goodwin officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Felde died Feb. 25, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place. She was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Humboldt, Kan., to Joseph Earl and Flossie Talley Martin. She was a 1943 graduate of Sheridan High School. She married Robert Bob Adams; they were divorced. She married Ken Morris, and they also were divorced. She married Dave Felde in Sheridan. She was a nursing assistant at Sheridan VA Medical Center for 19 1/2 years until 1993, when she retired. She was a member of the BPO Does and Red Hat Society and volunteered at First Christian Church Thrift Store and Sheridan Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, fishing, picnics, flowers, birds and crocheting. She was preceded in death by two brothers, LaVon Martin and W.C. Martin. Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Cooper of Richmond, Ky., Shirley Velos of Ranchester, and Judy Horsley of Sheridan; a son, Robert Adams of Grand Junction, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Memorial services for Amil E. Livingston, 96, of Sheridan will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Community Church, the Rev. Kenneth Doolin officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Livingston died Feb. 26, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 4, 1911, in Sheridan to Edward G. and Alpha Marie (Somerville) Livingston. He spent his early childhood on a homestead in the Powder River Breaks. The family moved to Newcastle in 1923, where his father worked as a railroad engineer at the Cambria coal mine. The family returned to Sheridan in 1926. Mr. Livingston married Loraine Browne on June 21, 1937, in Thermopolis. The Livingstons bought the Big Horn Avenue Grocery in Sheridan, then in 1941, Mr. Livingston bought the Sheridan Wrecking Yard. He later expanded his holdings to include Central News Stand, Champion Auto, Sheridan Sand & Gravel and Ready Mix, T&S Tire, and Sheridan Auto & Truck. He also operated the Gasamat Station and Car Wash. He was a founder of Camp Bethel and Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time at his cabin in the mountains, hunting and fishing. He was a hunting guide for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2003; a son, Ed, in 2006; a sister, Naomi; a brother, Elwood; and a granddaughter. Survivors include two daughters, Hazel Richards and Louise Knievel, both of Sheridan; a son, Jack of Sheridan; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. James R. Bury, 58, of Sheridan died Feb. 27, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Arrangements are pending with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
BUFFALO Dean Patrick Iannelli, 45, of Buffalo died Feb. 24, 2008, in Douglas. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Friday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with military graveside honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Arlene Sis Thompson, 97, Sheridan, died Feb. 23 at Sheridan Manor. Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sheridan Masonic 43 Cemetery, the Rev. Kevin Jones officiating. Born Aug. 10, 1910, to Evans and Elizabeth Davis, she married Roy Thompson in 1945 in Olathe, Kan. She belonged to St. Peter's Episcopal Church and BPOE Does. She enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles, and horseback riding and loved all animals. A sister, Velma Babe Brandt, preceded her in death. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Sheridan native Jerry Rhea Shatzer, 71, of Gillette will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Family Life Church with Pastor Bill Morel officiating. Arrangements are with Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette. Mr. Shatzer died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at his home of natural causes. He was born Jan. 25, 1937, to Richard C. and Evalyce Peg (Rhea) Shatzer in Sheridan. He grew up in Ranchester and was a 1955 graduate of Tongue River High School. He played basketball for the TRHS Eagles. He worked as a ranch hand for Padlock Ranch, then served in the military in Korea from 1958 until 1959, when he was honorably discharged. He received his bachelor's degree in 1963 from the University of Wyoming. During his summers in college, he worked in construction. After graduating, he attended flight school in Prescott, Idaho, and received his pilot's license. He worked for Fulkerson Aviation as a flight instructor and charter pilot. He married Marian Stevens on Nov. 11, 1969. In August 1970, he became unable to fly because of diabetes. He went to work for Stockmen's Bank then, in 1975, went to work in the county assessor's office. He was elected county assessor in 1976 and served in that post for 30 years, until December 2006, when he retired. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and hunting. In fall 2007, he killed a six-point bull elk during a hunt in Northern Wyoming with his son. He was preceded in death by a brother, Duster. Survivors include a son, Curt of Gillette; a daughter, Paula Williams of Sundance; his mother, Peg Hoffman of Billings; and two grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a trust that will be established to benefit his grandchildren's education.
Funeral services for former Sheridan resident Norman O. `Bud' Schnorf, 87, of Casper were 10 a.m. Thursday at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper. Mr. Schnorf died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at his residence. He was born Feb. 26, 1920, in Grand Island, Neb., to Goin and Alice Schnorf. The family later moved to Sheridan, where Mr. Schnorf graduated from Sheridan High School. After graduation, he joined the military. He served during World War II in Normandy, Northern France. He was awarded the Bronze Star. After the military, he returned to Sheridan and worked as a Carpenter until moving to Casper to work for Standard Oil Refinery. He retired from that job after 34 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy, and three sisters. Survivors include two sons, George of Sheridan and Andrew of Glenrock; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Conrad A. McEdward, 77, of Sheridan died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned at this time. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. McEdward was born March 3, 1930, in North Hollywood, Calif., to Nelson and Muriel McEdward. He joined the Air Force in 1948 and served until 1952, when he was honorably discharged. He married Mary Ann Lamb on Sept. 21, 1958, in San Diego. She preceded him in death. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, crafts, water skiing, swimming and the outdoors. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Brad Richard Guyer. Survivors include his children, Penny Church of Burbank, Calif., David Guyer of Grants Pass, Ore., Susan McEdward of Lakeport, Calif., and William McEdward of Sheridan; a sister, Willmarie Rosaci of Las Vegas; a brother, John Gaines; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Lewis P. Willner, 78, of Sheridan died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, in the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Arrangements are pending with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Memorial services for Jeanie C. Shipley, 77, of Sheridan are planned for a later date under direction of Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Shipley died Feb. 17, 2008, in Westview Health Care Center. She was born April 3, 1930, in Tacoma, Wash., to Donald and Leona Reid. She attended schools in Tacoma and later moved to Billings. She married Ray Shipley in 1976 in Billings. They lived in Ranchester 11 years before moving to Sheridan. She enjoyed the company of her cat, Boots, crocheting and reading. Survivors include her husband of Sheridan; and a sister, Wyona Morgan of Washington.
No services are planned for Helen R. Sampson, 93, of Sheridan in accordance with her wishes. Mrs. Sampson died Feb. 20, 2008, in Westview Health Care Center. Cremation has taken place, and burial of cremains will be with her husband in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D., under direction of Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Sampson was born Oct. 14, 1914, in Coral, Mich., to Robert and Anna Spence. She received her teaching certificate from Spearfish (S.D.) College and taught school in Torrington. She married John "Woody" Sampson on June 25, 1938, in Kimball, Neb. She was a member of the P.E.O. in Gillette and the Congregational Church in Sheridan. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Molly Barlow of Billings; two sisters, Donna Dickson of Pinedale and Pauline Schmidt of Eldorado, Calif.; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Conrad A. McEdward, 77, of Sheridan died Feb. 20, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home.
A memorial fund has been established for Thomas Alexander Brown, 27, of Sheridan. Donations may be made to the Thomas A. Brown Memorial in care of Cowboy State Bank, attn: Shanta, 951 Coffeen Ave., Sheridan, WY 82801. Mr. Brown died Feb. 19, 2008, in a work-related accident in southeast Johnson County. Derold Eugene `Buzz' Carpenter Jr., 66, of Cody died Feb. 14, 2008, near Cody. He was father of Amber Vine of Sheridan. Memorial services will be announced later. Mr. Carpenter was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Blackfoot, Idaho, to Derold and Helen Heitman Carpenter. He served in the military during the Cuban missile crisis and was honorably discharged in 1966 with a letter of commendation. He framed houses in Colorado until 1977, when he went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad as a brakeman, conductor and locomotive engineer. He handled trains in the coal basins of Wyoming and Montana for 20 years, until he retired. He married Audrey Mortensen on May 12, 1995, in Shell Canyon. The couple enjoyed fly-fishing and tending their five dogs and four cats. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack. In addition to his daughter, survivors include his wife; a son, Brad Carpenter Betschowa of Colorado; his mother of Washington; a sister, Julie Carpenter of Washington; two brothers, Roger of Oklahoma and Dale of Arizona; and one granddaughter. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society in care of First National Bank and Trust of Cody.
Funeral Mass for Dorothy Jean (Grant) Kline, 101, of Cheyenne will be 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cheyenne. She was mother of Charlotte Belton of Sheridan. Mrs. Kline died Feb. 14, 2008, in Cheyenne, following a brief illness. Cremation has taken place. Mrs. Kline was born June 4, 1906, in Denver to Duncan and Mary Regan Grant. She grew up on the family ranch near Wheatland. She married Arthur Kline in 1939. They lived in Cheyenne for most of their married life, except for a few years during World War II when they lived in Long Beach, Calif., and from 1956-61, when they lived in Washington, D.C., where Mr. Kline served on the Federal Power Commission. While in Cheyenne, Mr. Kline was an attorney and, later, district judge. Mrs. Kline was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Guild, Cheyenne Artists' Guild, and Westerners. She was an artist, and her oil paintings received awards over the years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999 and four siblings. Survivors include a second daughter, Marian Jean Kline of Cheyenne; a son, Duncan Kline of Laramie; and four grandchildren. At her request, memorials may be made to Saint Stephens Indian Mission Foundation, Wind River Reservation, P.O. Box 278, St. Stephens, WY 82524.
Funeral services for Thomas Alexander Brown, 27, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Salvation Army Chapel under direction of Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Brown died Feb. 19, 2008, in a work-related accident. He was born Feb. 19, 1981, in Colfax, Wash., to Kathleen and Douglas Brown. He married Valerie Hamilton on July 15, 2006. He had worked for Mister Well Service as a rig hand for the past year. He enjoyed his family and friends, NASCAR, and football. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mashyala of Billings and Jazmyne and Nikkita of Sheridan; his mother of Sheridan; his father of Nevada; a sister, Amy Brown of Grand, Neb.; a brother, Nathan of Sheridan; and his grandparents, Ernest VanKeuren of Oregon and Sandy Moore of Spokane, Wash.

Harvey James Overman, 72, of Arvada died Feb. 18, 2008, en route to the hospital in Buffalo. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with Bob Moore officiating. Private burial will be on the Keeline Ranch. Mr. Overman was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Lusk to Harvey and Goldie Overman. He grew up and attended schools in Lusk and Torrington. He went to work for the Keeline Ranch when he was 14. He also worked for Madden's Livestock and for Kerr-McGee Coal for several years. He married Lucretcia Ahern in May 1989. They made their home in Arvada. Mr. Overman worked for the Flying H Ranch for 10 years and, later, for Trig Marquess south of Gillette. He worked in ranching and construction until the time of his death. He was a member of the American Cowboy Team Roping Association, the Montana Team Roping Association and the Wyoming Team Roping Association. He shared reserve champion honors with Don Rice at the National Finals Team Roping in Reno, Nev., in 2000. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Niefert. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Craig of Newcastle, Clayton of Utah and Clint of Eveleth, Minn.; one stepson, John Ahern of Clearmont; two stepdaughters, Anne Ahern of Okeechobee, Fla., and Petey MacCarty of Sheridan; three sisters, Francis Dodson and Vergie Overman, both of Torrington, and Jo Adkins of Southerland, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Jeanie C. Shipley, 77, of Sheridan died Feb. 17, 2008, in Westview Health Care Center. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home.
Harold George Knaub, 79, of Bozeman, Mont., died Feb. 16, 2008, in his sleep at Mountain View Care Center in Bozeman. He was father of Scott Knaub of Sheridan and Lodge Grass, Mont. Funeral services were this morning at First Congregational Church of Laurel (Mont.) with burial in Laurel Cemetery. Arrangements were with Remington Letcher Funeral Chapel of Bozeman. Mr. Knaub was born June 16, 1928, to Phillip and Mary Katherine (Neibauer) Knaub on the family farm three miles north of Laurel. His parents were homesteaders from Kautz, Russia. He grew up on the family farm raising Holstein, Hereford and Red Angus cattle as well as dryland crops, irrigated alfalfa and field corn. The family also had a beet farm, and Mr. Knaub supervised German prisoners of war in the field during World War II. He was a 1947 graduate of Laurel High School, where he played football. He enjoyed hunting big game and collecting antiques. He was president of the Laurel Rod and Gun Club and Laurel Jaycees and a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Laurel Saddle Club and enjoyed riding his black horse, Chief, dressed as a cavalryman and accompanied by his German shepherd dog, Pepper, in the annual July Fourth parades. He married Charlotte Decker in 1953. They were divorced in 1972. Mr. Knaub sold the family dairy farm and went to work as a heavy-equipment operator at Big Sky Resort. As construction boss, he participated in building the Lone Peak Triple Chair along with major ski runs and the resort infrastructure. He was a member of the Gallatin Canyon Volunteer Fire Department. He left Big Sky in 1983, when he joined the Operating Engineers Union and worked in construction. In 1989, he joined a son working for Andesite Construction until he retired at 75. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Phil, and three sisters, Katie Schreiner, Lydia Frank and Rosie Reiber. Survivors include a second son, J.C. of Big Sky, Mont.; a daughter, Laurie Smith of Fort Mill, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Jessie T. Stringer, 79, of Sheridan died Feb. 16, 2008, in Sheridan VA Medical Center. Services will be in the Macon Road Chapel in Columbus, Ga., with burial in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. Local arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Strifler-Hamby Mortuary is in charge of arrangements in Columbus.
Memorial services for John D. Prill, 39, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Prill died Feb. 15, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of natural causes. He was born Nov. 6, 1968, in Sheridan to Bud and Teri Prill. He was a 1987 graduate of Sheridan High School. He married Collette Mallinger on April 16, 1994. He enjoyed bow hunting, boating, working on cars and building. He was a sheet metal worker at Prill Bros. He was preceded in death by a stepson, James Cerwick, and grandparents David and Mary Prill and Dorothy Jensik. Survivors include his wife; a son, Stephen of Sheridan; a daughter, Stephanie of Sheridan; three stepsons, Jesse, Michael and Mason Cerwick, all of Sheridan; his parents of Ranchester; a brother, Gary of Sheridan; and his grandfather, George Jensik.
Balbena Elizabeth Belle Manring, 95, of Sheridan died Feb. 15, 2008, in Sheridan Manor. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Church in Kaycee with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Burial will be in Kaycee Cemetery with graveside rites. Arrangements are with Adams Funeral Home of Buffalo. Mrs. Manring was born March 2, 1912, in York, Neb., to John and Katie M. (Vczjorek) Pruss. Her mother died in 1918. Her father remarried, and the combined families moved to St. Paul, Neb. After her father died in the early 1920s, Mrs. Manring lived with an aunt in Alba, Neb. At 13, she moved in with her older sister and brother-in-law, working as housekeeper and cook. At 15, she moved to Loup City, Neb., where she worked in a hotel. She married Bill Bangs in 1932. She moved to Kaycee in 1952 to be near a brother, Jack Pruss, and she and Mr. Bangs were divorced shortly after. She married Kenny Manring in 1953, and they resided in Kaycee, where she often worked as a waitress. The couple later lived in Glenrock, Jackson, Worland, Riverton, Gillette, Big Piney and Douglas before returning to Kaycee in 1966. Mr. Manring died in 2002. Mrs. Manring moved to Sheridan Manor in 2006. In addition to her second husband, she was preceded in death by three infant sons; three sisters, Mary Turek, Helen Wrobleski and Gundy Kruger; and two brothers, Don Pruss and Eddie J. Jack Pruss. John D. Prill, 39, of Sheridan died Feb. 15, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
Funeral services for Walter Bud Pilch, 89, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Carter Benedict officiating. Burial will be in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Viewing will be 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Pilch died Feb. 14, 2008, in Heritage Acres Nursing Home in Hardin, Mont. He was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Acme to Samuel and Mary (Peanowski) Pilch. He grew up in the Sheridan area. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, then returned to Sheridan. He married Gladys Adsit in the late 1940s in Sheridan. He worked as a cook before moving to Thermopolis, where he operated a motel for several years. He moved to Dayton and Ranchester before returning to Sheridan. He was a member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge 150 and enjoyed gardening, raising sheep and gambling. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe, John, Stanley and Smokey, and two sisters, Emily Baker and Rosie Provnick. Survivors include a sister, Bernice Minchers of Hardin. Memorials may be made to Sheridan Senior Citizens Center, 211 Smith St., Sheridan, WY 82801.
Richard J. Michaelis, 53, of Sheridan died Feb. 15, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of leukemia. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Wold officiating. Cremation will follow. Mr. Michaelis requested that friends and family donate blood as a memorial to him.
Helen Irene Harnish, 80, of Sheridan died Feb. 14, 2008, in Sheridan Manor. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo with the Rev. Pete Johnson as celebrant. Vigil service and rosary will be 5 p.m. Sunday at the church. Visitation will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with graveside rites will be Monday after the Mass in Willow Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Harnish was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Buffalo to Guy and Ida May McConnell. She grew up and attended school in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson High School in 1945. She attended Kansas Wesleyan University and later received a teaching certificate from the state of Wyoming. She taught country schools in Johnson, Sheridan and Campbell counties. She married George Harnish on Jan. 25, 1947, in Livingston, Mont. They resided on the Ed Fitch Ranch between Gillette and Arvada for two years before Mr. Harnish went to work for the Dam Construction Division of the Bureau of Reclamation. After he retired, the couple moved to Arizona for a couple of years before returning to Wyoming. They worked at Caribou Lodge west of Buffalo for two years, then moved to Edgerton, where they owned and operated the bowling alley for 13 years. While in Edgerton, Mrs. Harnish was a substitute teacher there and in Midwest. The couple returned to Buffalo, and she worked as a nurse's aide at the veterans home until she retired. Mr. Harnish died in June 2006. Mrs. Harnish moved to Sheridan Manor three months ago. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, two bridge clubs in Buffalo, the Buffalo Pool League, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was also a foster grandparent. An avid bowler and golfer, she won handicap and scratch championships at the State Bowling Tournament. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles McConnell. Survivors include one brother, Don McConnell of Superior, Ariz., and Buffalo; a half brother, John Arross of Casper; and a sister, Annette Akers of Buffalo. Darlene American Horse (Esevoneme`ehne`e), 51, of Sheridan died Feb. 10, 2008, in Sheridan. A wake service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Christ the King Church in Busby, Mont. Ms. American Horse was born June 17, 1956, in Crow Agency, Mont., to Ernest and Carrie (White Wolf) American Horse. She was an enrolled member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. She grew up and attended school in Busby and Twin Falls, Idaho, and received her Associate of Arts degree at Sheridan Community College. She married Jon W. Green in Lodge Grass, Mont. They later separated. Ms. American Horse was a chemical dependency specialist at Thunder Child, a youth counselor at Normative Services Inc., and a member of the Mormon Church. She enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, attending powwows, and beadwork. She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Survivors include three children, Joey Lee Green of Sheridan, and Sonja Marie Green and Joshua Djon Green, both of Seattle; her parents; five sisters, Marge Eagleman of Lame Deer, Mont., Alberta Fisher of Birney, Mont., Priscilla Reed of Kirby, Mont., Rosalee Moore of Twin Falls, and Orvilla Burris of Sheridan; four brothers, Newton American Horse and Mickey Wolfe, both of Sheridan, Sam American Horse of Uneeda, W.Va., and Bob Bragg of Casper.

He was born May 9, 1923, in Orchard, Neb., to Glen and Emma (Sollman) McNabb. He was a 1940 graduate of Orchard High School He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. He married Evelyn Deibel on April 17, 1948, in Akron, Ohio. They lived in several towns in Iowa, as well as in Omaha, Neb., Laramie and Mesa, Ariz., before moving to Sheridan in 2005 to be near their son. Mr. McNabb was an avid fisherman and enjoyed sightseeing in the Big Horn Mountains. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a champion boxer in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was self-employed in several businesses and a recognized industry leader in food brokerage, according to his family. He was preceded in death by a sister, Fern Quigley. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kevin of Dayton; a brother, Lyle of Omaha; a sister, Joanne Crotty of Norfolk, Neb.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Helen K. Warnke, 95, of Sheridan died Feb. 9, 2008, in Sheridan Manor. Memorial services will be later this summer. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Warnke was born Feb. 17, 1912, in Tripp, S.D., to Whittmore and Rosa (Wildermuth) Mikuska. She grew up and graduated from high school in Tripp. She married Edmund Henry Warnke Sr. on July 24, 1934, in Mitchell, S.D. She was a homemaker until Mr. Warnke was killed in an automobile accident, then she worked as a cleaner for Mossholders, Vickery Lumber, Bloedorn Lumber, the Helvey Hotel and Gibson Lumber. She retired at age 89. She enjoyed music, reading and working circle puzzles. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a great-grandson. Survivors include three sons, Tom and Ed Jr., both of Sheridan, and Jon of Torrington; two daughters, Rose Marie Buckley of Sheridan and Wanda Bodine of Torrington; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Former Clearmont resident Dorothy Marguerite Waggoner, 90, of Buffalo died Feb. 11, 2008, at her residence. Private burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery. A gathering in her honor will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Buffalo Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Waggoner was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Clinton, Ind., to Thomas and Sylvia Sharp. She went to school in Clinton and moved to Wyoming in 1932 to live with her grandparents. She married Emmett Waggoner on Aug. 17, 1932, in Broadus, Mont. They ranched north of Gillette. They moved to Buffalo in 1939, and Mrs. Waggoner worked at Morrison's Laundry until 1947, when they moved to Clearmont. They owned and operated the Gem Cafe in Clearmont. They moved back to Buffalo in 1954, and Mrs. Waggoner returned to work at the laundry. She later worked in the laundry department of Johnson County Hospital for several years. She was a member of the Buffalo Bowling League. Mr. Waggoner died in June 1985. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Waggoner was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister and one grandson. Survivors include a son, Kells of Englewood, Colo.; a sister, Esther Lang of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Mass of Christian Burial for Robert J. Harrison, 88, of Sheridan will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church in Streator, Ill., with Monsignor John J. Pendergast officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Streator with full military rites by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Harrison died Jan. 30, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Streator to Henry and Nettie (Shefield) Harrison. He attended schools in Streator and was a 1937 graduate of Streator High School. He married Geraldine Bishop on Dec. 21, 1944, in Streator. She died Jan. 12, 2008. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. during World War II, with tours in China, Burma and India. After service, he worked as a clerk and postmaster with the U.S. Postal Service for more than 40 years until retiring in 1984. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a member and past exalted ruler of Streator Elks Club. He also belonged to Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492 and was past commander of Streator AMVETS. He was longtime member and past president of Streator Kiwanis and a member of Monsignor George A. Dzuryo Knights of Columbus 790. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, George R. "Jodie," and two brothers, Henry and George. Survivors include a son, John Henry "Jack" of Sheridan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Chase died Feb. 4, 2008, in an automobile accident. He was born June 23, 1980, in Sheridan to Eugene and Lynda (McCarthy) Chase. He grew up and attended schools in the Sheridan area and graduated from Sheridan High School. He married Joni Powers on May 9, 2005, in Sheridan. He worked for Larry's Inc. for several years, then he owned and operated Wyoming Pools and Spas. He also worked in 2003 for Caza Drilling, then went to work for Spring Creek Coal as a heavy-equipment operator in 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, coin collecting, working around the house, playing video games with his children, and being with his family. He was preceded in death by a grandmother, Willo Chase. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kaleb and Gavin; a daughter, Katie; a brother, Tyson; two sisters, Danyelle Morton and Nikki Chase; his mother and stepfather, Lynda and Bryan Ristau; his father and stepmother, Gene and Toni Chase; and his grandparents, Garrett and Audrey Myer. Inurnment of cremains will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Moody died Feb. 6, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1924, on a homestead near Sayle, Mont., to John and Edith (Robinson) Moody. He grew up on the homestead and graduated from high school in Broadus, Mont. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After service, he worked in logging in Alaska and, later, jobs in Sheridan. He married Doris Brown on June 10, 1968, in Moorcroft. She died in 2002. He worked 25 years for Sheridan VA Medical Center. After retiring from the VAMC, he worked for Buggy Bath Car Wash for more than 20 years. He enjoyed gardening and reading. Survivors include a son, Matthew of Sheridan; a daughter, Christina of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Thomas of Greenville, Texas; and one grandson. Funeral services for Donald Lee Hyder, 81, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Doolin officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Hyder died Feb. 4, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born June 21, 1926, in Hopkins, Mo., to Sarah and Jesse Hyder. He grew up in Pickering, Mo. He joined the Coast Guard in 1943, with his mother's permission, and served in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II. He was honorably discharged Feb. 12, 1946. He came to Sheridan after the war and worked at the Alamo gas station/motel. He married Alice (Mickey) Lilley on May 24, 1947, in Hardin, Mont. He joined the National Guard and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was transferred to Fort Lewis, Wash. He was later honorably discharged, and he and his family moved to California, where he worked for the County of Los Angeles Maintenance and Sanitation District for 20 years, until retiring in 1983. He and his wife moved to Sheridan in 1984. A member of the Masonic Lodge since 1967, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, growing tomatoes, visiting with family and friends, and was an avid NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by siblings Marjorie Wolters, Francis Hyder, Lester Joe Hyder, Virginia Saggs, Florence Darby, and Etta (Hope) Janke. Survivors include his wife; five children, Donald Jr., Linda Fice, Ronald, Sarah and Roger; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She worked as a cook for Woolworth, the Palace Cafe, Skelly Truck Stop, and Trail's End Restaurant for many years. Mr. Badgett died in 1983. She married Cecil Pee Wee Parsons on Sept. 15, 1987, in Sheridan. She enjoyed collecting black-and-white cows, fishing, camping, playing bingo, watching TV game shows, and being with her children, grandchildren and her dog Scooby. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel Showers, seven brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include her husband; a son, Kevin Badgett of Sheridan; four daughters, Rosie Sadler, Connie Deutsch, Sheila Badgett and Tami Badgett, all of Sheridan; a brother, Robert Moose Vine of Sheridan; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Basin to Silas Bert and Mabel Leah (Schenck) McCracken. She grew up and attended schools in Basin and was a lifelong resident of Wyoming. She married Raymond Gonzales in January 1967 in Basin. They lived in the Basin-Greybull area and in Lovell before moving to Sheridan in 1989. She was a homemaker and member of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed horses, the Big Horn Mountains and being with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister. Survivors include a son, Joe James of Sheridan; and a brother, Fred McCracken of Escanaba, Mich.
Margueritte Louise Way, 86, of Sheridan died Jan. 31, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Way was born Jan. 1, 1922, in Hulett to Mabel and Wiley Driskill. The family moved to Buffalo when she was 9 months old. She graduated from Johnson County High School in 1939, then worked for J.C. Penney for nine years. She married Bob Lepper in November 1947 in Casper. She moved to Sheridan in 1949 and helped operate the Sheridan Inn dining room until it closed. She was assistant manager at the Sheridan Center for several years. She married Robert Way on Jan. 18, 1966. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Daughters of the Nile, and the American Legion Auxiliary in Buffalo, a past member of St. Peter's Altar Guild, Honored Queen of Job's Daughters Bethel No. 4 in Buffalo, Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel No. 4, and the Sheridan Country Club. She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Robert Earl Way and Gary Way; a sister, Lee Meike; and a brother, John Driskill. Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Owen Lepper of Wolf Point, Mont.; a daughter, Kathy Way of California; two stepdaughters, Judy Schreibeis of Sheridan and Mary Lynne Lamberts of Rochester, N.Y.; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
