RANCHESTER Ranchester native Harold Willard Lindeen, 79, died Jan. 7, 2001, at his home in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Lindeen was born Dec. 10, 1921, to Harold and Gladys Lindeen. He attended Sheridan High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He began his career as a roughneck in the 1950s in Wyoming and moved to Alaska in 1969. He worked for Eastman Christianson Diamond Products as a core engineer until retirement in 1986. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; his parents; and a brother, William. Survivors include two sons, Harold and Mike Lindeen, and daughter, Marcie Musgrave; a sister, Mary Lee Stopka of Sheridan; and seven grandchildren.
Sheridan native Joyce Elaine (Achenbach) Conner, 55, of Rapid City died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bill Paepke officiating. Kinkade Funeral Chapel of Rapid City is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Conner was born June 13, 1945, to Urban Tim and Thelma (Anthony) Achenbach. She attended school in Sheridan and lived here until 1970 when she moved to Butte, Mont. She moved to Rapid City in 1980. She married Kerry Conner Oct. 28, 1989, in Rapid City. She was active in the community and loved her dogs, Rusty and Cocoa. She was a member and past secretary of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, a member of the Christian Womens Club, craft clubs and the Quilters Guild. She was past president of the Chapel Lane Homeowners Association and a member of the Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, of Rapid City; a daughter, Jodie Remington of Piedmont, S.D.; a stepson, Kelsey Conner; a brother, Tim Achenbach of Sheridan; and three grandchildren. Memorials have been established to the American Lung Association and the Humane Society of the Black Hills.
Angelo F. Rody Rotellini, 87, of Sheridan died Jan. 28, 2001, at Westview Health Care Center. A Rosary service is 7 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church with Monsignor Eugene Sullivan and the Rev. Ron Stolcis as celebrants. Interment will be in the Elks Cemetery. Mr. Rotellini was born Sept. 29, 1913, at Paganica, Italy, to Frank and Paudilia (Farella) Rotellini. He attended Holy Name School and graduated from Sheridan High School. He was an All-State basketball player for SHS in 1934-35. He married Rose Bitters May 10, 1941, in Hardin, Mont. The couple lived most of their lives in Sheridan where Mr. Rotellini was employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and WY-Mont Beverages. Following retirement from the beverage industry, he worked for Sugarland Development. He loved music and played alto saxophone with the Harmony Kings Dance Band for more than 30 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, attending Sheridan athletic events and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #520, Eagles Lodge #186, Knights of Columbus Council #2104, Sheridan Quarterback Club and Holy Name Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, August; sister Adelgesa; and daughter, Karen Lee Green. Survivors include his wife, Rose, son Frank and brothers Ernest and Sam, all of Sheridan; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Holy Name School Foundation or the Sheridan High School Wellness Center in care of Delphine Toner, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Frances Z. Marosok, 81, of Sheridan died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Houston. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Kane Funeral Home.
Harold H. Wurst, 91, of Sheridan died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, in the Sheridan VA Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Keys officiating. Interment will be in the Osceola (Neb.) Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Wurst was born Feb. 11, 1909, in Boelus, Neb., to the Rev. Adam J. and Edna (Schulz) Wurst. He graduated from Waco, Neb., High School in 1927, attended York College and was a 1931 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. He married Doris Ruth Hanson Dec. 24, 1939, in Osceola. He was a salesman in Geneva and Grand Island, Neb., until he was inducted into the Army during World War II. He served in the European theater in the infantry and as a medic. He received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and three Battle Stars. He was discharged in November 1945. He came to Sheridan in September 1950 to work in the Croff Store, which became the J.M. McDonald Co. He retired in 1974. He was fond of sports including hunting, fish, golf and watching football and basketball. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #43, Order of the Eastern Star, York Rite Bodies, Royal Arch, Knights Templar & Council, Knights Templar Cross of Honor, Red Cross of Constantine, Kalif Shrine, Knights of the York Cross of Honor and Holy Order of High Priesthood. He also was a member of the Odd Fellows, Elks Lodge #520 and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Doris, of Sheridan; two sisters, Dorothy Eells of Ogallala, Neb., and Marjorie Lovgren of Twin Falls, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family has suggested memorials to benefit the First United Methodist Church or Kalif Shrine.
Willard N. Rasmussen, 87, of Sheridan died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ronald Nelson and the Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Rasmussen was born April 14, 1913, in Barronet, Wis., to John and Nora (Nelson) Rasmussen. He grew up and attended schools in Barronet. He began working construction with his older brother. He met Helyn Porter in Nebraska, and they were married July 3, 1938, in Vancouver, Wash. He continued construction work with several companies including Peter Kiewit. He came to Sheridan in 1944. He and his brother, Clifford, operated their own Rasmussen Bros. Construction Co. from 1947 to 1969. Mr. Rasmussen moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1970 and owned and operated Pioneer Parts & Supply until he retired in 1976. He and his wife moved to Coeur dAlene, Idaho, in 1979. They traveled the U.S. and other countries and were active in their community and church wherever they lived. They retired to Sheridan in 2000. Mr. Rasmussen enjoyed hunting, fishing and flying his airplane. He got his private pilots license when he was 63. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Association of General Contractors and Soil & Water Conservation Contractors of which he was past president. He loved being with family and having family reunions. He was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Sheridan; two sons, Harlan of Sheridan and Loren of Juneau, Alaska; two daughters, Elyn Mae Lyon of Salem, Ore., and Jan LeIla Bauman of Rawlins; two brothers, Clifford of Sheridan and Raymond of New York; three sisters, Stella Brown and Geneva Gadow, both of Cumberland, Wis., and Ila Hollander of Hendersonville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family has suggested memorials to benefit Trinity Lutheran Church.
LANDER Former Sheridan resident Scott Bernard Hill, 33, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at his home in Lander. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Latter Day Saints church, Sixth and Cascade in Lander. Dinner at the church will follow. Arrangements are with Hudsons Funeral Home of Lander. Mr. Hill was born Nov. 4, 1967, in Cheyenne to Gail Richard and Alta Rose (Sobotka) Hill. He graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Sheridan College where he majored in police science. He married Sherry Mae Johnson in Sheridan March 5, 1993. He became a detention officer for Fremont County in November 1994 and completed detention officer basic at Wyoming Law Academy. He received an honorary peace officer certificate in November 2000 the first such honorary certificate awarded in Wyoming. He received recognition from fellow officers and friends of the Fremont County Sheriffs Department for outstanding courage, upbeat positive attitude and determination in a four-year fight with cancer. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ruth Hill. Survivors include his wife and two daughters, Amber Mae, 6, and Haley Rose, 3, of Lander; by his parents, a sister, Susan Houston, and a brother, Mark, all of Sheridan; and his grandmother, Gladys Sobotka of Story. The family has suggested memorials to benefit Jims Friends, a Lander cancer support group or Help for Health, which provides funds and/or transportation for those receiving cancer care in care of Hudsons Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Drive, Lander, WY 82520. Contributions may also be made to a charity of the donors choice.
James E. Goar, 93, of Sheridan died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at Westview Healthcare Center. Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Name Catholic Church with Monsignor Eugene Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Mr. Goar was born Dec. 2, 1907, in Sacramento, Calif., to Clara E. (Erickson) and Ernest J. Goar. He attended elementary and high school in Montevideo, Minn., graduating in 1925. He attended merchandise display and advertising school and joined the Montgomery Ward company. He married Matilda Dietrich June 13, 1933, in Bismarck, N.D. The couple lived in Anaconda, Mont., and Idaho Falls, Idaho, before coming to Sheridan in 1935 where he managed the Montgomery Ward store. He left Montgomery Ward and worked for Norman Mosby at Wyoming Electric Co. for a time. He opened Goars Shoe Store in 1939 and operated the business for 30 years. He later went to work for Camera West and later for the Bryan Foundation where he was office manager until he retired in 1992. He served on boards of directors for organizations including the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce, Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library, Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County, Holy Name School Foundation and Wyoming Blue Cross. He was scoutmaster with Knights of Columbus Troop 108 and was an active organizer for creation of the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and Elks Lodge #520 and enjoyed fishing and backpacking in the mountains and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, in 1998; a brother, Lloyd Goar; and three sisters, Clara Mickelson, Helen Knoben and Winifred Lewis. Survivors include a sister-in-law, brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. BYRON, Mich. Former Sheridan resident Marian A. Cutler, 80, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at the Fenton Extended Care Center in Fenton, Mich. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Streeter Funeral Home in Byron with the Rev. Fred Finzer officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. Visitation will be noon-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Cutler was born July 5, 1920, in Byron to James and Louella (Cook) Henry. She married Pete Cutler Jan. 4, 1940, in Flint. She was a certified nurse assistant at the Sheridan VA Medical Center in addition to working at hospitals in Flint and Pontiac. While in Sheridan she was a member of Eagles Lodge #186 Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1963; and by her parents; a sister, Kay Gray; a brother, Kenneth Henry; and a granddaughter. Survivors include three daughters, Jill Randolph of Sheridan, Judith Cutler of Fenton and Jovae Brady of Flint; a son, Jamie, of Davisburg, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Henry W. Hank Zimmerman, 86, of Quartzsite, Ariz., died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in Havasu (Ariz.) Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are with Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Mr. Zimmerman was born Aug. 17, 1914, in Clarkton, Mo. He was a professional square dance caller and teacher and called many events in Sheridan. He was a member of First Methodist Church, the Lions Club and a life member of the Elks. He was a certified FCC communication technician for Montana-Dakota Utilities. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife, Alice, of Quartzsite; two sons, David Ward of Bozeman, Mont., and Jon Henry of Clinton, Miss.; two sisters, Betty Jane Herrin of Thermopolis and Ruth Ann Maier of Cheyenne; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

One-time Sheridanite Lyla Lucile Grimshaw Murdent, 80, of Salem, Ore., died Jan. 10, 2001. Services and interment were private. Arrangements were by City View Funeral Home. Mrs. Murdent was born April 22, 1920, in Westby, N.D., to William and Ragnhild Grimshaw. The family moved to Sheridan when she was young, and she grew up and attended schools here. She married Donald Murdent in 1945. She worked in sales and health care and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, in 1986, and by a brother, Russell Grimshaw of Sheridan, and a sister, Grace Chatham. Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Wordelman of Astoria, Ore., Diane Stebbins of Woodburn, Ore., and Donna Swenson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; four sisters, Esther Meredith of Palm Springs, Calif., Nancy Hebrew of Santa Rosa, Calif., Fern Hancock of Yuba City, Calif., and Jean Brent of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Bob Grimshaw of Modesto, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Ashley Louise McKenzie, 14, of Sheridan died Jan. 19, 2001, at Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Denver. Miss McKenzie was born June 27, 1986, in Sheridan to Melodee McKenzie and Edward Trujillo. She lived with her mother and aunt and attended schools in Sheridan. She loved the outdoors, fishing, swimming, camping, hunting and music of all kinds. She also loved spending time with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Loyd W. McKenzie. Survivors include her mother; her father and his wife, Sharon; a special aunt, Tess Trujillo of Sheridan; a brother, Joshua Barker of Sheridan; stepbrother Jessie and stepsisters Tiffney and Sara of Colorado; grandparents Martha McKenzie of Arvada and Edward and Mary Trujillo of Sheridan; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Marie G. Gibson, 86, of Sheridan died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Meadowlark Manor, Whitehall, Mont. Visitation was to be 10 a.m.-5 p.m. today at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Mrs. Gibson was born March 10, 1914, in Hardin, Mont., to Allen and Alberta (Clark) Graham. She was raised on ranches around Hardin and later worked for the Campbell Farming Corp. near Hardin. She married Loell Bub Gibson Dec. 24, 1938, in Billings, and they moved to Lodge Grass Creek, Mont., where they ranched. They later moved to Belgrade, Mont., where they owned and operated a Conoco gas station and cabins. They moved to Bozeman, Mont., for a while before ranching in northeast Wyoming. They returned to Lodge Grass and later to Missoula, Mont., before coming to Sheridan where they retired in 1976. Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Mountain View Club on Lodge Grass Creek. She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband, of Sheridan; three sons, Dale of Whitehall, Ron of Boulder, Mont., and Gene of Bozeman; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Long-time Sheridan resident Feliz Gold, 82, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at the VA Medical Center Nursing Home Care Unit in Phoenix. Paradise Chapel Funeral Home of Phoenix is in charge of cremation. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheridan. Mr. Golds cremains will be scattered over Steamboat Rock in the Big Horn Mountains. He was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Costillo, N.M., to Jose Guillermo Gold and Domitilla Archuletta. He was employed 53 years by Sheridan Iron Works. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a daughter, Carol Izbrand of Phoenix; two sons, Bob Gold of Eugene, Ore., and Ed Gold of Collierville, Tenn.; two stepchildren, Joyce Fotland and Gene Frey, both of Sheridan; two brothers, Joe A. Gold of Escondido, Calif., and Joe F. Gold of Douglas; 10 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Former Sheridan resident Jane W. Swartz, 88, of Federal Heights, Colo., died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in Boulder, Colo. A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Holiday Hills Community Center in Federal Heights. Burial will be in the Kirwin, Kan., cemetery. Crist Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Swartz was born Nov. 3, 1912, in Kirwin to U.S. Grant Willis and Grace Brewer. She married Roy Swartz March 5, 1932, in Smith Center, Kan. She was a 1969 graduate of the University of Wyoming. She taught secondary education-special education for a time in Sheridan. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a grandson. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Grace Elliott of Boulder and Ruby A. Hoffner of Phoenix; a sister, Ann Dimond of Houston; a brother, Warren Willis of Pharr, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Gladys May (Doyle) Tiaval, 95, of Sheridan died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at Sheridan Manor. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Kane Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Tiaval was born in Columbus, Mont., on the Crow Reservation to Tom and Maggie (Shane) Doyle. She was one-quarter Crow, with ties to the Bundle Clan. Her older brother and sister attended The Indian School in Carlisle, Penn., while Jim Thorpe was a student there. Mrs. Tiaval remembered when, while she was a small child, Chief Plenty Coup and Two Leggings came over the Wolf Mountain to visit her parents. She loved to sing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Junior, and daughter, Eileen May Casey Velas; eight brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Doris Patton of Hines, Ore.; close friend Caroline (Yellow Tail) Houston of Sheridan; and several grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Howard D. Smith, 86, of Sheridan died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, at Sheridan Manor. Visitation was to be 4-6:30 p.m. today at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Masonic Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Doug Melius officiating. Mr. Smith was born Oct. 17, 1914, in North Dakota to Jasper and Nina (Turnell) Smith. He grew up and attended schools in Roundup and Forsythe, Mont. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for Von Ragsdale Clothing Co. and managed the store in Sheridan until he retired. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge #43, Kalif Shrine and York Rite Bodies. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include a brother, Earl, of Riverside, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Sheridan.

Byron Stanley Bridger, 91, of Sheridan died
Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at the Sheridan VA Medical Center.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic
Church with Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating. Kane Funeral Home
is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bridger was born May 28, 1909,
in Laramie to William Henry and Mabel Augusta Trabing Bridger. He
graduated from Laramie High School and spent much of his early
life on the family homestead. He served as staff sergeant in the
U.S. Army during World War II in Italy, receiving the Silver Star
and Good Conduct medals. He spent most of his adult life in law
enforcement, beginning his career in the Laramie Police Force and
later joining the Wyoming Highway Patrol. He retired from the
Highway Patrol in 1974 as a lieutenant in charge of the Sheridan
area. His badge number, 24, meant he was the 24th patrolman hired
in the state. He loved to hunt and fish, enjoyed being outdoors
and would often take his children camping. He was preceded in
death by his parents and two brothers, Chuck and George.

Norma Jean Wacker, 76, of Sheridan died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001, at Westview Health Care Center. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Roundup, Mont., with the Rev. Mrs. Wacker was born April 10, 1924, in Carroll County, Indiana, to David Merle and Eva O. Wagner Lennon. She married Harold Wacker in Roundup Oct. 4, 1942. The couple moved to Sheridan in 1985 from Anderson, Calif. She enjoyed painting, making stained glass crafts, sewing and music. She also enjoyed working the last two and a half years as dining room receptionist at the Sheridan Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Nov. 16, 1988, and by a brother, Bud Lennon, in 1995. Survivors include her mother, Eva Lennon of Roundup; four sons, Greg of Sheridan, Rick of Anderson, Calif., Doug of Redding, Calif., and Roger of Shingletown, Calif.; two daughters, Barbara Streetman of Anderson and Lynn Wacker of Sheridan; a brother, Joe Lennon of Powell; a sister, Helen Devine of Livingston, Mont.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. ALLIANCE, Neb. Elizabeth M. Fosher, 95, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Friday at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington with the Rev. Debra Olenyik of the United Methodist Church officiating. Mrs. Fosher was born Feb. 9, 1905, in Akron, Ohio, to Christ and Ane Marie (Andersen) Larsen. She married Allen Fosher June 3, 1928, at Manville. They ranched in Niobrara County until 1963, when they moved to Torrington. She was active in 4-H and the Homemakers Club. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Torrington. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, three sisters and two brothers. Lois V. Richardson, 93, of Sheridan died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. A memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Chapel Church in Story with the Rev. Philip Wilson officiating. Interment of cremains will be later in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery, Masonic section. Mrs. Richardson was born Sept. 29, 1907, in Sheridan to George and Effie (Whitmire) Donaldson. She grew up and graduated high school in Sheridan. She attended the University of Wyoming and taught school for a short time. She married Fred L. Richardson Sr. in the late 1920s in Sheridan, where she lived most of her life. Mr. Richardson died in 1977. She spent many hours in her garden tending her flowers and enjoyed when her friends came to see them. She enjoyed crocheting, music and playing the piano. She loved art and painting. She was preceded in death by one son, L. Ross Richardson. Survivors include two sons, Fred of Belmont, Calif., and Frank of Sheridan; a half-sister, Velma Harnish of Sheridan; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. Becky L. Poulos, 45, died Jan. 7, 2001, at Centennial Hospice Cottage of pancreatic cancer. Services were Thursday, Jan. 11, at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Burial will be at a later date in Wyoming. Mrs. Poulos was born Aug. 16, 1955, at Poplar, Mont., to Shirley (Husman) and Frank Powell. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1973. She married Albert Poulos October 1973 in Sheridan. She graduated from National College in May 1991, where she earned her associates degree in travel. She was an administrative assistant to the pastors and computer administrator at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Her hobbies included sewing, and counted cross stitch pictures, and she had just begun quilting. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Angela; three sons, Jeffrey, Christopher and Albert Jr., all of Sioux Falls; her mother, Shirley Powell, of Sheridan; a sister, Brenda Rendon, Solvang , Calif.; two grandchildren; and one nephew. LARAMIE Mary Jean Shaw, 96, died Jan. 11, 2001, at the Laramie Care Center. Services were Monday in Laramie. Interment is in Green Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Shaw was born in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Canada, July 11, 1904, to John and Mary Ann (Gonzy) Brunyansky. She came to Laramie, then lived in Sheridan and returned to Laramie. Survivors include her husband, Evan C. {Bud Shaw of Laramie; a son, Dean, of Laramie; a sister, Helen Farver of Laramie; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Wesley Roger Dahlin, 67, of Riverton died Dec.
27, 2000, at his home. Services have been held. Mr. Dahlin was
born Aug. 20, 1933, in Quietus, Mont., to Thure Edwin and Elma
Elizabeth (Ort) Dahlin. His family moved from their homestead to
Sheridan when he was about 5. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
He married Darlene Rogers June 9, 1956, in Billings. He worked
several years at lumber yards in Casper and Arvada, Colo., before
moving to Riverton about 37 years ago. He was a wood craftsman,
glazier and handyman. He was a volunteer fire fighter. He liked
to hunt and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife,
Darlene, of Riverton; daughters Melanie Steinbach of Denver,
Amber Dahlin of Idaho Springs, Colo., Lisa Willis of
Douglasville, Ga., and Pam Dahlin of Riverton; one brother, T.
Edward Dahlin of Sheridan; and nine grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, George Bennett
Dahlin and John Steven Dahlin. Memorials are suggested to the

Roberta Marie Russell, 73, of Sheridan died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held later. Mrs. Russell was born March 26, 1927, in Sheridan to Anna Mentok and Robert Flockhart. She attended Sheridan High School and Carroll College where she studied to be a Registered Nurse. She worked in Miles City, later moving to work at the Crow Agency. She loved fishing and hunting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Russell, and her parents. Survivors include her sons, Edward Russell and Dennis Russell; a brother, Robert Flockhart; and two grandchildren. All memorials in her name may be donated to meals on wheels.

Sara Renae Kawulok, 15, of Sheridan died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. She came to Sheridan in 1980 to work at the VA Medical Center as a medical social worker. She also taught assertiveness training courses at Sheridan College. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Sheridan Business Women and People for Human Rights and served on the board of the Senior Center. She helped in the early days of the organization of Hospice of the Big Horns. She was a liaison between the VA Medical Center and the Sheridan community. She enjoyed ceramics, reading and traveling. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Giuffrida of Beaverton, Ore., Loretta Ziminski of Churchville, N.Y., and Georgette Reed of Tulsa, Okla.; a special friend, Lee Voight Jr. of Sheridan; a sister, Suzanne George of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and five grandchildren. Doris P. Alexander, 83, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001 at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be at a later date. Mrs. Alexander was born Jan. 14, 1917, in Littleton, Colo., to William Fredrick and Amy Estelle (Stookey) Pettow. She attended schools in Littleton and graduated from Littleton High School. She married Chester C. Alexander in Littleton in 1935. After he died in 1958, she returned to school and graduated with a degree in teaching from Colorado State University. She was a librarian for School District 6 in Colorado for 20 years. She moved to Sheridan in October 1997. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and watching the Denver Broncos. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary; and three sisters, Eloise, Irma and Neva. She is survived by a son, Don, of Sheridan; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was a bookkeeper for John Byrtus, CPA, and later worked at Sheridan Commercial Company. She had many hobbies including playing golf and cards with her friends. She was a member of the Elks Club and Sheridan Country Club. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Richard. Survivors include a son, Luther Baldwin Jr.; and seven grandchildren. She kept house for her parents and brothers until they passed away. She helped raise her nieces. Mr. Wyett was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Aldershot, England, to Arthur and Ada (Benn) Wyett. He served in the Royal Navy from May 1943 to September 1946. He married Dearcy Paul Nov. 12, 1946, in Loughborough, England. In June 1950, he and his family immigrated to America. Before his retirement, he had worked for Sheridan Electric, Flynns TV and Appliance, Plaza Appliance, and Zowada Plumbing and Heating. He was a member of the Big Horn Mountain Lodge No. 43, the Scottish Rite, the Kalif Temple, and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Douglas and Ronald Wyett. Survivors include his wife, of Sheridan; daughters Linda Wyett of Dayton, Brenda Wright of Ontario, Canada, and Carolanne Carpenter of Arboles, Colo.; a son, Michael D. Wyett, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Roy Wyett; nine grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters. Louis Matejovitz, 95, of Sheridan died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Mr. Matejovitz was born Nov. 28, 1905, in Dietz to Frank and Eloise (Kostal) Matejovitz. He grew up and attended school in the Dietz area. He worked in the coal mines in Dietz, Monarch and Kooi. He married Mary Legerski Nov. 20, 1932, in Monarch. He went to work as a carman for CB&Q Railroad in the mid-1940s and worked there until he retired in the late 1960s. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tinkering with different things. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge No. 186 and the Brotherhood of Carman Union. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Sheridan; a daughter, Louise Mae Roush of Pueblo West, Colo.; a sister, Katherine Marosok of Sheridan; four granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.
Isabella R. Diewald, 91, of Sheridan died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Committal of cremains will be later in Ohio. Arrangements are with Champion Funeral Home. Mrs. Diewald was born Nov. 23, 1909, in Lorain, Ohio, to Duncan and Anna (Ruthren) Stewart. She married Edward Diewald Dc. 17, 1931, in Lorain. She worked as a seamstress for Richmond Brothers. During World War II, she worked as a timekeeper in the mill for U.S. Steel. They moved to Michigan in 1947, living there until Edward died in 1978. Then she returned to Ohio until she moved to Sheridan in 1989 to be near her daughter. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard, in 1955; three sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Crampton; one granddaughter; and one grandson.
Eric Wyett, 75, of Sheridan died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, in Billings. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic Lodge No. 43 Cemetery.
Memorial services for Jean Christler, Big Horn, who died in November, are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Congregational Church in Buffalo with the Rev. Kent Waugh officiating.
Kevin Dale Huff, 30, of Billings died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, in Sheridan. Funeral services are in Houston later this week. Kane Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.
