BUFFALO Former Buffalo resident Dale Ray Schoolcraft, 51, of North Dakota died Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at the home of his brother in Casper following a battle with cancer. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Willow Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Visititation will be 1-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Dale Schoolcraft Memorial Fund to help his family defray expenses.
Mark Colin Seeley, 81, of Evansville died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at the home of his son. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are with Bustard Funeral Home of Casper. He was father of Pat Ashlock of Sheridan. He was born May 8, 1926, in Biwabik, Minn., to Fred and Francis (Neely) Seeley. He attended school through the eighth grade, then did iron work. He served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his German shepherd dogs Baron and Becca. He was a member of the Masons. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann, and a daughter, Linda. Other survivors include three sons, Steve and Scott, both of Evansville, and Mark of Mills; and another daughter, Margo of Rock Springs.
Anne Etta Matteson, 80, of Buffalo died June 28, 2007, in Johnson County Health Care Center. She was sister of Ruth Searcy and Joyce Shoumaker, both of Sheridan. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. today. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Matteson was born June 6, 1927, in Albany, Mo., to Clifford and Phoebe Search. She grew up and was educated in Missouri. She moved to Wyoming in 1944. She married Fred C. Rives on May 2, 1945, in Buffalo. They moved to Midwest in 1946, where Mr. Rives worked for Standard Oil Co. He died in 1965. She moved to Buffalo, where she married Verl Matteson on June 8, 1966. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and one grandchild. Survivors include a son, Robert Rives of Battle Mountain, Nev.; two brothers, Joe and Jerry Searcy, both of Palisade, Colo.; one other sister, Wanda Wyantt of Denver; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Larry Sayer, 63, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Monday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Gordon Henderson officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Sayer died June 26, 2007, at his residence. He was born Nov. 2, 1943, in Sheridan to Charles and Marguerite Sayer. He married Stasia Petrovich here on Dec. 4, 1965. He enjoyed the mountains, fishing, hunting, woodworking, racing cars, boxing and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lee Roy, and a brother, Gary. Survivors include his wife; two children, Leon Sayer and Tina Wilson; two brothers, Vernon of Eloy, Ariz., and Carl of Sheridan; two sisters, Goldie Steigelman and Rosie Curtis; and four grandchildren.
Memorial services for Roger H. Blake, 69, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Sheridan Sportsman's Gun Club with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Blake died June 24, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place. He was born Feb. 4, 1938, in Ashland, Wis., to Hugh and Vivian Blake. He attended St. Agnes Grade School and graduated from De Padua High School in Ashland. He was a GMC maintenance man for 30 years, until his retirement. He was a lifelong member of the American Trapshooting Association and a member of the Sheridan County Sportsman's Gun Club. He enjoyed trapshooting, hunting and fishing. He earned his ATA grand slam and was a member of the Wisconsin and Wyoming state trapshooting teams and an All-American in the sport. Survivors include his wife, Gayle; his mother of Milwaukee; two children, Kimberly Even and Kristine Blake, both of Michigan; two stepchildren, Dawn Borkholz of Wisconsin and Scott Kabasa of Idaho; three brothers, Gary of the Philippines, Richard of Michigan and Bob of Wisconsin; a sister, Andrea Kajfosz of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. Lena Loretta Ogg, 94, of Worland died June 27, 2007, in Worland Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was mother of the Rev. Thomas Ogg and Matthew J. Ogg, both of Sheridan. A Christian wake/rosary service will be 7 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Worland with the Most Rev. David L. Ricken, bishop of Wyoming, officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday with Thomas Ogg as principal celebrant and the priest of the Wyoming Diocese as concelebrant. Rite of Committal will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland. Arrangements are with Veile Mortuary of Worland. Mrs. Ogg was born Nov. 7, 1912, in Longmont, Colo., to Joseph Francis and Barbara Margaret (Gross) Salzman. The family moved to Worland when she was 5. She attended the Durkee School north of Worland and was a 1931 graduate of Washakie County High School. She received her teacher training from the University of Wyoming. She taught at the Deep Creek School, south of Ten Sleep, for one year and the Durkee School for five years. She married George Harper Ogg Jr. on June 8, 1937, in Basin. The couple farmed north of Worland for most of their lives. Mr. Ogg died Oct. 5, 1982. Mrs. Ogg enjoyed gardening, needlework, canning, traveling with her husband including to the Bahamas and Mexico and playing pinochle. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Leo, Nick, Joe, John and Pete; three sisters, Rose Lamb, Mary Dierks and Eva Ruby; and a grandson. Survivors include three other sons, Kenneth C. of Worland, Paul Joe of Longmont and William L. of Great Falls, Mont.; a sister, Anne Piel of Worland; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services for George Michael Bedner, 71, of Dayton will be 2 p.m. Monday at Kane Funeral Home with Jeff Browning officiating. Viewing will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Dayton Cemetery. Mr. Bedner died June 21, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Chicago to Michael and Mary Bedner. He attended St. Ann Grade School and was a 1955 graduate of Calumet High School. He served in the Army and the Reserve. He married Helen Molchan. They later divorced. He owned George's Barber Shop in Gary, Ind., until 1971, when he moved to Dayton. He worked at Zowada Plumbing, Decker Coal and other businesses in Sheridan until 1987, when he opened George's Barber Shop in Ranchester. He retired in 2006. He married Shirley Carlat in 1993. He was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Suzanna Bedner Antholz of Aurora, Colo.; a stepson, Eric Warren of Dayton; a sister, Patricia Conway of Gary; and two granddaughters. Funeral services for Sandra Lee Dillman, 46, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Monday and noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel. Graveside services will be in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo. Mrs. Dillman died June 21, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 14, 1960, in McLeansboro, Ill., to Frear and Sylvia Sutphin. The family moved to Gillette and, later, to Buffalo, when she was a child. She attended Buffalo schools until her sophomore year in high school, when her family moved to Clearmont. She was a 1978 graduate of high school there. She attended business college in Rapid City for a year. She married Roger Malli in 1984 in Sheridan, and they made their home here. They were later divorced. Mrs. Dillman managed Taco John's until 1997. She married Alvin Dillman on June 14, 1997, in Sheridan. She was food service manager for Maverik Country Stores. She enjoyed her animals, gardening and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her father; a stepfather, Bob Trebelcock; and a sister, Terri Coleman. Survivors include her husband; her mother of Sheridan; a son, Chancey Malli of Sheridan; two brothers, Danny Sutphin of Cheyenne and Michael Sutphin of Sheridan; and one grandson. Graveside services for former Ranchester resident Alice Kathleen Brothers, 84, of Buffalo will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Willow Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Edd Spurlock officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Monday and 8-9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Brothers died June 21, 2007, in Amie Holt Care Center in Buffalo. She was born March 3, 1923, in Knoxville, Tenn., to Howard and Minnie Jones. She grew up and graduated from Central High School there in 1940. She attended Maryville (Tenn.) College, where she studied home economics. She married Lehman Brothers on April 9, 1946. After he was discharged from the Navy, they resided in Knox County, Tenn., until 1986, when they moved to Ranchester. They moved to Buffalo in 1988 to be near children and grandchildren. Mr. Brothers died in 2004. Mrs. Brothers enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing for her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother. Survivors include three sons, Doug of Buffalo, Terry of Knoxville and Nick of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Lynda Dowdy of Taylorsville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Private services will be later for Catherine M. Grimes, 86, of Sheridan. Mrs. Grimes died June 20, 2007, in Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Grimes was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Delta, Colo., to Charles R. and Theodora A. Fulghum. She was valedictorian of her high school class. She was sent to Sheridan in 1945 by Fox Theaters to manage the Orpheum Theater. She married Donald J. Grimes on June 12, 1946, in Delta, then returned to Sheridan. She was a homemaker and an avid reader and bridge player. She was preceded in death by 12 siblings and a daughter, Patty Ann Riley. Survivors include her husband of Sheridan; two sons, Charles of Sheridan and William of Laramie; two daughters, Barbara Sowada of Rock Springs and Nancy Stranger of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Former Sheridan resident Larry Roger Larson, 73, of Buffalo died June 20, 2007, at his residence following a short illness. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Edd Spurlock officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Tuesday and 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with military graveside honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Wyoming Army National Guard. Mr. Larson was born Dec. 16, 1933, in Clearwater, Neb., to Roger and Olive Larson. The family moved to Cheyenne, then to Buffalo in 1945, and he graduated from Johnson County High School in 1952. He attended the University of Wyoming for a year, then moved to Sheridan and transferred to Sheridan College. He went to work for Percy Robinson's meat-cutting plant in Buffalo in 1954. He married Doris Johnson on Nov. 2, 1955, in Buffalo. Mr. Larson served with the U.S. Army in Germany from 1956-58. He worked for the Wyoming Department of Transportation in Buffalo for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife; his mother of Buffalo; one son, Mike of Buffalo; two daughters, Kathy Zorbas of Buffalo and Linde Merrow of Rolla, Mo.; one brother, Lanny of Thornton, Colo.; one sister, Laverna Epp of Hastings, Neb.; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Former Sheridan resident Dorothy Mildred Dolly Kipf, 85, of Miles City, Mont., died June 15, 2007, in Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday at Grace Bible Church in Miles City. Burial will be in the family lot of Custer County Cemetery in Miles City under direction of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Mrs. Kipf was born Feb. 26, 1922, in Sturgis, S.D., to Kenneth and Frances Edith (Horn) Danniel. She grew up in the Castle Creek area, attended schools in Hill City, S.D., area and high school in Rapid City. At 16, she hitchhiked to Montana to stay with an aunt. She married Bob Kipf in 1939 in Glendive, Mont. They worked for ranchers in the Rock Creek, Mont., area for several years before moving to Sidney, Mont. They later bought a farm in Rosebud, Mont. The moved to Sheridan, where she cooked for Beckton Stock Farm. The family moved to Miles City in 1979, then to Sundance. Mrs. Kipf returned to Miles City in May. She enjoyed quilting, needlework, reading, guiding riders through the Little Big Horn and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Kelsey Jake; two brothers, Warren Danniel and Frank Bruce; two sisters, Elsie Jackson and Florence Moore; and two grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Ken of Harlowton, Mont., Larry of Rosebud Creek, Mont., and Lloyd of Bloomingdale, Ga.; three daughters, Lois of Garden City, Idaho, Kathy Bumgardner of Miles City and Karlys Irion of Cave Creek, Ariz.; two brothers, Francis Danniel of Napa, Calif., and Wilbur Bruce of Rapid City; one sister, Rose Berry of Lewistown, Mont.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Graveside memorial services for Edith I. Babe Austin, 75, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Philip Wold officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Austin died June 7, 2007, at her residence from cancer. She was born in Sheridan to Harry and Viva (Johnson) Anderson, grew up here, and attended Sheridan schools. She married James Austin in Sheridan in 1950 and worked a number of jobs during her life. She enjoyed garage sales, camping, the mountains, growing flowers, sewing and playing bingo occasionally. She was preceded in death by a son, James; a brother, Andy Anderson; and a sister, Dorothy Huson. Survivors include two daughters, Gail and Helen Austin, both of Sheridan; a son, George of Oklahoma; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mary Veronica Young, who died June 14, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital, was a resident of Kirby, Mont. not Sheridan as originally reported by the funeral home. Her obituary was published in Monday's Sheridan Press.
Funeral services for Loretta Payette, 93, of Sheridan will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Fairview, Mont. Mrs. Payette died June 17, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. She was born April 23, 1914, in Dore, N.D., to Frank and Pearl (Mann) Clark. She grew up and attended schools in Dore. She married Herbert Flynn on Nov. 10, 1930, in Sidney, Mont. They lived in Dore until 1951, when they moved to Fairview. Mr. Flynn died in 1974. Mrs. Payette married Harry Payette in 1977. They lived on a farm east of Fairview. Mr. Payette died in 1986. Mrs. Payette moved to Fairview, then to Sheridan in 1992. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church in Fairview and Big Horn Mountain Polka Club in Sheridan. She enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and dancing. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Dwain, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include a son, Jack Flynn of Fairview; a daughter, Joan McChesney of Sheridan; two stepsons, Milo and Vern Payette; a stepdaughter, Anna Kukus; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Community Presbyterian Church in Fairview.
Dawn Sullivan, 42, of Sheridan died June 15, 2007, after a short battle with cancer, according to her family. Cremation has taken place. Private services will be later. John E. Tracy, 68, of Sheridan died June 18, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Revs. David Duprey and Kevin Jones officiating. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home.
Memorial services for Mary Veronica Young, 98, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Stolcis officiating. Mrs. Young died June 14, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Young was born in 1908 in Chadron, Neb., to James T. Young and Margaret Guidinger Young. She attended school through two years of college in Chadron before moving to Montana in 1927 to cook for her uncle, Chas Young. After her mother's death, she remained on the Young ranch in Kirby, Mont., which she inherited from her uncle. She helped raise her younger siblings. She enjoyed polishing agates and other stones, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She made many quilts and was a member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse, Charley and LaRue, and a sister, Sarah Wyrick. Survivors include two brothers, John and Joseph; and two sisters, Adeline Rice and LaRene Adsit. Funeral services for former Sheridan County resident Robert Aurist Bob McCue, 77, of Buffalo will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, Gillette, with Pastor Gordon Harper of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Gillette. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. McCue died June 14, 2007, in Campbell County Memorial Hospital following surgery and a long battle with diabetes. He was born July 19, 1929, to J.A. Aurist and Helen (Likewise) McCue in Gillette. He grew up on the family homestead at Middle Prong and attended country schools in the Arvada area. He was a 1948 graduate of Campbell County High School. He served in the Marines during the Korean War on the front lines for 18 months, followed by duty as a military policeman in Bremerton, Wash., until 1953. He returned to the family ranch after service. He married Darlene Swede Curtis in 1954. The family purchased an irrigated ranch at Leiter, where they lived until 1999, when they sold the ranch and moved to Buffalo. Mr. McCue served on the board of Sheridan County Weed and Pest, Pratt and Ferris Ditch Co., Cadiz Corp. and the Clear Creek Chapter of FFA. He was a volunteer fireman for the Arvada-Leiter-Clearmont area. He enjoyed horseback riding, square dancing, working with cattle and horses on the ranch, and hunting elk and moose in Jackson Hole. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion and Barbara Joy, and two brothers, George and Donald. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert R. of Buffalo; two daughters, Catherine Nielsen of Rapid City and Debra McCue of Gillette; two brothers, Richard of Moorcroft and James of Gillette; a sister, Thelma Dexter of Gillette; and two grandchildren. Former Sheridan resident Jane Katheryn Coulter, 85, of Gillette died June 14, 2007, in Campbell County Memorial Hospital of natural causes. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Mount Pisgah Cemetery shelter in Gillette with the Rev. Donovan Voight of the Presbyterian Church of Moorcroft officiating. Arrangements are with Walter Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette. Mrs. Coulter was born July 23, 1921, in Marmarth, N.D., to James Lund Lawson and Pearl Lavina Liming Lawson. The family moved to Milwaukee, then to Lodge Grass, Mont., where she attended school. She married James R. Kirk Coulter in 1937 in Hardin, Mont. During their marriage, they lived in Hardin, Gillette, Sheridan, Cheyenne, Pine Haven and Tucson, Ariz. Mrs. Coulter was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a Cub Scout den mother, state Democratic committeewoman for Campbell County, and was appointed by Gov. Joe Hickey to the State Youth Council Board. She was nominated for Wyoming Mother of the Year in 1962, held local and state offices in the American Legion Auxiliary, and served on the staff of the American Legion Girls State Committee. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge 28, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Daughters of the Nile as well as a 47-year member of Gentian Chapter 23, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a DeMolay Mother for three terms. Her husband and a son, Darrell, preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Milton and Alton, both of Gillette; three siblings, Jimmy Lawson of England, Ark., Dorothy Hardy of Gillette, and Gayle Albright of Roundup, Mont.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Vera Radtke, 94, of Appleton, Minn., died June 12, 2007, at Appleton Area Health Services. She was mother of Jane Gallagher of Sheridan. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in First Congregational Church in Appleton. Burial will be in Appleton City Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the church one hour before services. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home-Vaala Chapel in Appleton. Mrs. Radtke was born Oct. 14, 1912, in Tyndall, S.D., to Fred and Myrtle (Washburn) Maynard. She was a 1930 graduate of Correll (S.D.) High School. She married Eddy Radtke on March 15, 1940. She lived and worked on the family farm in Moyer Township, Minn., until 1978, when she moved to Appleton. She was a member of First Congregational Church, where she was a Sunday school superintendent and teacher for many years. She was active with the Ladies Fellowship and former president of the organization. She was a member of the Home Makers Club and enjoyed being with family, gardening, card games and needlework. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 30, 1993; five brothers, Glenn, Ralph, Earl, Max and Wayne; and five sisters, Nona, Elna, Helen, Gail and Francis. Survivors include another daughter, Janet Clark of Willmar, Minn.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside committal of cremains of Clara A. Wootton, 63, of Sheridan will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Dave Asbury officiating. Arrange-ments are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Wootton died June 11, 2007, at her residence. She was born Jan. 24, 1944, in Sheridan to John and Lita May (Whitten) Mitchell. She grew up in the Arvada area and graduated from Arvada High School. She married Frank Wootton on Dec. 19, 1964. They resided in Sheridan, and she worked at the Blue Chic Inn. They moved to Worland in 1973. Mrs. Wootton worked at Pinnacle Bank for more than 30 years, until she retired this spring and returned to Sheridan. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Worland. She enjoyed walking and reading. She was preceded in death by a brother, Art Mitchell, and a sister, Helen Timar. Survivors include a son, Michael, a daughter, Laurie Kiser, and a brother, Allen Mitchell, all of Sheridan; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services for Kenneth L. Channel, 69, of Sheridan will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Sheridan VA Medical Center Chapel with Chaplain Arden Haeffner officiating. Mr. Channel died June 8, 2007, at Sheridan VAMC. Cremation has taken place with arrangements by Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Channel was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Wyola, Mont., to Ernest and Bessie Channel. He joined the Navy in 1958 and made it his career until retiring in 1974. He enjoyed collecting coins and building model airplanes. He was a member of the Flying Cowboys Model Airplane Club. He was preceded in death by a sister, Byrlla Myhre, and a brother, Albert. Survivors include seven daughters, Connie Romine, Rebecca Pursell, Kathy Walker, Nyhoka Vore, Linda Bennet, Anna Winterman and Phillis Ann; a son, Charles; two sisters, Ellie Horsley and Kathy Kuchera; two brothers, Bud and Justin; 20 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Former Sheridan County resident Charles Phillips Jr., 86, of Gillette died June 10, 2007, in Pioneer Manor. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Tom Saur officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until noon Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. Mr. Phillips was born May 9, 1921, in Kirksville, Mo., to Charles W. and Daisy Phillips. The family moved to Arvada when he was a child, and he grew up and attended schools there. He was graduated from Arvada High School, where he was a member of the basketball team. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He married Joyce Clabaugh on July 9, 1945, in Hardin, Mont. They resided in San Diego while Mr. Phillips was in the service. After the war he took a job with the Sheridan Flouring Mills Elevator. He later transferred to the elevator in Hardin and eventually transferred to Gillette, where he managed Sheridan Flouring Mills until it was purchased by Farmers Co-op. He continued working for the Co-op until his retirement in 1984. A member of Sheridan Elks Club, he enjoyed fishing, yardwork, elk hunting, watching TV sports, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse, and a great-grandson. Survivors include his wife of Gillette; two sons, Bill and Dennis, both of Gillette; two daughters, Susan Garry of Gillette and Linda Cross of Spotted Horse; a sister, Eva Lepper of Casper; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. After high school, Mrs. Rader received teacher's training in Normal School (now Rocky Mountain College in Billings) and taught in a one-room school near Roundup. Her pupils included her two younger sisters. She married Boyd William Rader on Sept. 1, 1935, in First Presbyterian Church in Sheridan. She was a 50-year member of PEO Chapter T in Sheridan. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Roberta Poll; a brother, Otto L. Hill Jr.; and a grandson. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia R. Dunlap, and sons Boyd William Bill Jr., Richard A. and Robert L., all of Sheridan; a sister, Betty Jeane Thomson of Seattle; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Margaret Orlean Walker, 88, of Fort Collins, Colo., died May 31, 2007, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins. She was sister of Sue Harris of Sheridan. Funeral services were Monday. Cremation took place in Fort Collins. Mrs. Walker was born Oct. 24, 1918, to Herb and Anna Ketcham on their family's homestead west of Cheyenne. She graduated from Cheyenne High School and attended Colorado Women's College in Denver. She married George Lee Walker on Oct. 11, 1943. While he served during World War II, she volunteered with the Red Cross Grey Ladies in Army hospitals around the world. She was a member of the Retired Officers' Wives and Pioneer Women's clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Frank Ketcham and Jack Doc Ketcham. In addition to her sister, survivors include two daughters, Georgia Hancock of Sebastian, Fla., and Laura Gastineau of Fort Collins; a son, Herb of Cheyenne; a brother, Bill Ketcham of Greeley, Colo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral services for Maurice Edwin Harbel, 81, of Sheridan will be 1 p.m. Friday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Terral Bearden officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Big Horn. A reception will follow at the Big Horn Woman's Club. Mr. Harbel died June 3, 2007, in Deaconess Hospital in Billings after a long illness. He was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Sargent, Neb., to Andrew and Anna (Shinn) Harbel. He attended a one-room school in Sargent. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944 and was sent to Japan with the Army of Occupation after the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. He was a corporal and MP in the 4th Infantry. After his discharge in 1946, he returned home to help his father on the farm. He married Clara Mae Barton in 1947, and they lived on the farm until 1953, when they moved to Sheridan. Mr. Harbel worked at the Sheridan VA Medical Center for 30 years, 20 as a nursing assistant and 10 in the Manual Arts department teaching leather crafting and shoe and boot repair to patients. He learned prosthetics at the VA in Los Angeles and took on that work. He helped start American Federation of Government Employees Local 1219 and had been a member of the organization since 1967. He served as president and steward of the union. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1560 in Sheridan. He was a ditch rider for the Metz and Colorado Colony ditch companies for 44 years. He raised Limousin cattle and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed practical jokes. He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce, and by three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Naylor, a son, Douglas, and sister, Mary Kraft, all of Sheridan; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Sheridan Senior Citizens Center's Mini-Bus or Day Break programs.
Memorial services for Fred L. Larsen, 60, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Forman officiating. Mr. Larsen died June 4, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place. He was born in 1946 in Buffalo to August Barney and Janetta Larsen. He graduated from Riverton High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1966, served in Vietnam, and was honorably discharged in 1968. He married Suzanne Gallagher of Casper. He enjoyed hiking, skiing, mountaineering, camping, gardening and woodworking. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Yolanda J. Lee of Westminster, Colo.; a son, Aaron E. of Sheridan; and siblings Carl of Bellingham, Wash., Joe of Ten Sleep, and Ginger Boyer of Lander.

Linda M. Bouslaugh, 49, of Sheridan died June 1, 2007, in Sheridan Manor after battling cancer. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Bouslaugh was born March 9, 1958, in Queens, N.Y., to Eugene C. and Marie Antoinette (Scocca) Borelli. She grew up and graduated from high school in Queens. She moved to Sheridan in June 2000 and married Carter Bouslaugh here on June 7, 2004. She was preceded in death by her father. Survivors include her husband; a son, Anthony Carfino of Sheridan; two daughters, Lisa Carfino and Alice Barbara Bouslaugh, both of Sheridan; and one grandchild.
Former Sheridan resident Kay Brockman, 88, of Aurora, Colo., died May 13, 2007, according to her family. Memorial Mass was celebrated May 21 at Church of the Risen Christ in Denver. She was a social worker at Sheridan VA Medical Center for 15 years. Survivors include her husband, Robert. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
