Memorial services for James Podgornik, 49, of Sheridan will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Podgornik died May 28, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. Cremation has taken place. He was born June 13, 1957, in Sheridan to Joseph and Mary (Povsner) Podgornik. He married Kim Link in Buffalo on May 1, 1992. He enjoyed hunting, boating, water-skiing, working on farm equipment and travel. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors, all of Sheridan, include his wife; a brother, Jon; and two sisters, Roberta Cooley and Lee Morgareidge. Graveside services for Pauline Veach, 89, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Sheridan Memorial Cemetery with Allen Jones officiating. Viewing will be 1-7 p.m. today at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Veach died May 28, 2007, at her residence. She was born Aug. 29, 1917, in Sheridan to George and Katherine (Schrinder) Adams. She grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. She married J. Byron Veach on Dec. 16, 1940, in Sheridan. He preceded her in death. She was a caregiver for many children throughout the years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking rides around the county. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, David; and sisters Amelia Derrickson, Sarah Fauser and Emilie Jelly. Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Hein, Emma Jean Hando and Kathy Oatts, all of Sheridan; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Memorial services for Lawrence D. Larry Davis, 76, of Sheridan will be announced later. Mr. Davis died May 25, 2007, in Sheridan VA Medical Center. Cremation has taken place with arrangements by Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Davis was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Ontario, Wis., to Vernon and Florence (Gardner) Davis. He attended country schools in Walrath, Wis., and high school in Glen Flora, Wis. He attended Southern Oregon College in Ashland. He joined the Navy in 1947. He married Rose Marie Stevens in Ladysmith, Wis., in 1952. They moved to Oregon that year, and Mr. Davis worked in sawmills. He moved to southeast Alaska in 1964 to work in logging camps. He returned to Oregon in 1968. He and his wife were divorced in 1972. Mr. Davis returned to Alaska in 1975 to work on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline as a labor foreman. In 1978, he moved to Sheridan and worked in construction. He returned to Alaska in 1982, where he worked in construction and later formed his own construction and snow-removal company. He retired to Oregon after suffering a heart attack. He later published a book of his adventures in Alaska during the 1960s. He returned to Sheridan in 2006. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed playing cards, reading and telling stories. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Porter. Survivors include two sons, Vernon of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and Forrest of Talent, Ore.; and four sisters, Rosemary Rathsack of Junction City, Ore., Dolores Novak of Princeton, Wis., Margaret Call of Brigham City, Utah, and Sharon Schultz of Florence, Ore.

Former Sheridan resident Pamela Dennis Sampson, 62, of Gillette died May 25, 2007, in Campbell County Memorial Hospital from complications to injuries suffered in a motor-vehicle accident. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Mount Pisgah Cemetery with the Rev. Chad Brucklacher, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, officiating. Arrangements are with Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette. Mrs. Sampson was born July 13, 1944, in Philadelphia to Kenneth and Jean (Bechtold) Harper. She moved to Sheridan in her senior year of high school and graduated from Sheridan High School. She worked for many years as a nurse's aide at Sheridan Memorial Hospital before transferring to Sheridan VA Medical Center, where she worked as a ward secretary until she retired. She moved to Upton and, later, Gillette, after the death of her husband, Sam. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, where she spent many years on dart ball leagues. She also enjoyed fishing. Survivors include a son, Kevin Dennis of Sheridan; a daughter, Deborah L. McElhiney of Gillette; one brother, Kenneth Harper of Aldan, Pa.; and five grandchildren. James L. Carey, 65, of Sheridan died May 25, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Cremation has taken place, and a private memorial service for the family was Sunday. Arrangements were with Kane Funeral Home.

Services are planned later for Frank W. Martin, 66, of Sheridan, who died May 23, 2007, in Billings. Cremation has taken place, and arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Martin was born in 1941 in San Diego to Frank and Rose Martin. He was a graduate of El Cajon (Calif.) High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1959 and served until 1962, when he was honorably discharged. He married Valerie Pinterich on Feb. 20, 1993, in Ceres, Calif. He worked construction and owned and operated a trucking company. He drove for most of his career. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially his Honda Goldwing, and was a car enthusiast. He owned a 1929 Model A classic car. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Lee. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Frank William Martin Jr. of Modesto, Calif., Paul Eugene Martin of Carson City, Nev., Edward Alan Martin of Turlock, Calif., Michael William Martin of Davenport, Iowa, and Eric Alan Lloyd of El Cajon; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Bauman of El Cajon; nine siblings; and six grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Linda "Lin" Harris Luedtke, 65, of Triangle, Va., will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Chesterfield, Va. Mrs. Luedtke died May 22, 2007. She was daughter of Mary Elizabeth Berry and sister of John Berry, both of Big Horn. She was an emergency room nurse at Totomac Hospital for 35 years. In addition to her mother and brother, survivors include a son, Bryan H. Luedtke of Hilton Head, S.C.; a daughter, Susan L. O'Shea of Chesterfield; two other brothers, Mike Berry of Gabriola, Canada, and Dan Berry of Billings; and three grandchildren. Warren Franklin Long, 86, of Sheridan died May 23, 2007, in Sheridan Manor. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home in Buffalo, followed by graveside services in Kaycee Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Long was born March 15, 1921, in Firth, Neb., to Frank S. and Mary C. Long Sr. He grew up and attended schools in Firth and Sussex. He married Vivian L. Turk on Sept. 11, 1953, in Buffalo. They made their home in Hastings, Neb., where where Mr. Long worked at the naval base, until 1957, when they moved to Sussex. Mr. Long worked in construction, building the Sussex road. They moved to Edgerton, where he worked in the oil field for a year and a half, then returned to Sussex, where he worked in the Lynch oil field until 1986, when he retired. He moved to Sheridan Manor in February. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family in those activities. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Rusty Scott; two brothers; and one sister. Survivors include his wife of Sussex; a daughter, Ve Nancy Niswender of Buffalo; two sons, Floyd of Buffalo and Scott of Kaycee; two sisters, Leona Taylor of Midwest and Grace Wright of Johnson, Neb.; a brother, Frank Junior of Warsaw, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services for Nova Laveta Dinnebeck, 87, of Sheridan will be 3 p.m. June 1 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. A gathering in the Parish Hall will follow services. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Dinnebeck died May 18, 2007, in Sheridan Manor. She was born in 1919 on the family farm near Loveland, Colo., to Ellen (Greenwood) and Rufus R. Roller. She grew up in Fort Collins, Colo., and was a 1938 graduate of Fort Collins High School. She attended nurse's training at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Denver. She married Harvey Brick Gordon in 1939. They operated Brick's Plumbing and Heating in Fort Collins until 1954, when the family moved to Wheat Ridge, Colo. They were divorced in 1966. Mrs. Dinnebeck married Paul Wanley in 1967. They lived in Granby, Colo. Mr. Wanley died in 1979. She married John Dinnebeck in August 1981. He died of brain cancer in December that year. Mrs. Dinnebeck retired from nursing and became a Mary Kay consultant serving the North Park area in northern Colorado. She moved to Sheridan in 1996 to be near her daughter. In addition to two husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Strachan of Fort Collins, and a great-grandson. Survivors include a son, Larry Gordon of Pasco, Wash.; a daughter, Lynn Gordon of Sheridan; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Memorials may be made to Sheridan Senior Citizens Center Day Break program or mini-bus program, 211 Smith St., or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Graveside inurnment services for former Sheridan resident Lena Guster, 90, of College Station, Texas, will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. David Duprey officiating. A reception for family and friends will be at the Holiday Inn following the services. Mrs. Guster died earlier this year in College Station. Cremation took place in Texas. Local arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Sheridan native Lin Harris Luedtke, 65, of Richmond, Va., died May 22, 2007, in Richmond, according to her mother, Betty Berry of Sheridan. Arrangements are pending with the family.

Ronald Stolcis officiating. Burial will be in the Elks Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Lopez died May 18, 2007, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1943, in Sheridan to Louis and Pauline (Delgado) Lopez. He grew up in Sheridan and was a graduate of Holy Name School and Sheridan High School. He served in the National Guard and worked at Hammer's Chevrolet and Sheridan Electric before being employed at Decker Coal. He married Ranelle Johnson on Dec. 8, 1970, in Sheridan. They were divorced in 1978. He left Decker Coal in 1988 and worked for Cloud Peak Realty and ERA Carroll Realty. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church, Elks Lodge 520, Big Horn Mountain Eagles and the Karz Club. He enjoyed playing in the pool league, golf and restoring cars. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest and Louie, and a sister, Rose Marie. Survivors include a son, Matt of Henderson, Tenn.; a daughter, Amy Ross of Willcox, Ariz.; a brother, John of Sheridan; three sisters, Molly Jones of Kirby, Mont., Francey Armstrong of Great Falls, Mont., and Ann Campos of Santa Paula, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. She was born Sept. 27, 1927, in Sheridan to Jess M. and Rose E. (McDonald) Ellsworth. She was a 1945 graduate of Sheridan High School and married Harold W. Wood that year in Billings. She was a member of many organizations, including Daughters of the Nile where she served as queen in 1976 Beauceant, Order of the Eastern Star and Akcita Win. She was a telephone operator at Bell Telephone, medical secretary for the Schunk Clinic and administrative assistant for Whitney Benefits. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and dachshund, tending her flower gardens and weekends at the family cabin in the Big Horn Mountains. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Dorothy Ellsworth; and a brother, Warren D. Ellsworth. Survivors include three children, Darlene Gilkey, Ron Wood and Bob Wood, all of Sheridan; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. William J. Semingsen, 71, of Billings died May 17, 2007, in Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan. He was brother of Ray Semingsen of Sheridan. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Smith's Downtown Chapel in Billings. Inurnment of cremains will be in Manchester Cemetery in Great Falls, Mont. Local arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Semingsen was born Jan. 24, 1936, in Sidney, Mont., to Sever George and Alma (Siefert) Semingsen. He grew up on the Highline in northern Montana and moved to Great Falls with his family when he was a child. He lived in the Boulder (Mont.) Training School and in Big Sandy, Mont., for a time before moving to Billings in 1975. He was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed children, animals especially birds and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by two half sisters. In addition to his brother, survivors include a half sister, Susan Shrapp of Great Falls. Funeral services for Betty Lou Spangler, 84, of Sheridan will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Duprey officiating and the Rev. Kevin Jones co-officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Spangler died May 14, 2007, near Des Moines, Iowa, in a car accident. She was born Dec. 5, 1922, in West Union, Ill., to Fred and Beulah Huffington. She married Norman Spangler on Oct. 8, 1944, in Marshall, Ill. They moved to Sheridan in 1949, and Mrs. Spangler began her career as a registered nurse at Sheridan County Memorial Hospital in 1950. She worked at the hospital for more than 35 years. She was a member of the Wyoming Nurses' Association and its former state president. She also volunteered with the Kalif Shrine Center and was several times recognized as Kalif Woman of the Year for her service. After retirement, she enjoyed travel, fishing in the mountains, reading and embroidering tea towels. She participated in several Wyoming craft shows, selling tea towels and homemade jelly. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Sharon Bedard and Norma Eberts; three brothers, Jack, Dean and Dale Huffington; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Graveside services for Esther Bumbaca, 90, of Sheridan will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Odd Fellows Section of Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Bumbaca died May 16, 2007, in Sheridan Manor. She was born May 17, 1916, on the Powers Ranch in Squirrel Creek Valley near Decker, Mont., to Frank and Nora (Foss) Powers. She attended school in Squirrel Creek and graduated from Sheridan High School. She married Dominic Bumbaca on Dec. 31, 1939, in Hardin, Mont. She ranched with her family in Decker for many years until 1972, when she retired and moved with her husband to Sheridan. She enjoyed painting. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister. Survivors include a son, David of Sheridan; one grandson; and four great-grandchildren. Former Sheridan resident Margaret Jeanne (Jeanne) Kinskey, 79, of Scottsdale, Ariz., died May 10, 2007, in the Mayo Hospital in Scottsdale. She was mother of Mayor David Kinskey of Sheridan. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper, followed by a reception at the Petroleum Club at approximately 12:30 p.m. Mrs. Kinskey was born July 5, 1927, to Bessie Margaret O'Neal and Edward Dunn Dougherty in Steubenville, Ohio. She was a 1945 graduate of Portsmouth (Ohio) High School and a 1949 graduate of Miami of Ohio University. She married Charles Rodney Kinskey on Sept. 5, 1949. The family lived in Portsmouth and Casper in addition to Sheridan. She described herself as a professional mom. She attended her children's swim meets, recitals, wrestling matches, 4-H shows, speech meets and football games. She participated in tennis, swimming, bicycling, cross country skiing, golf and rollerblading. She enjoyed bike rides with her children, reading and discussing books, and being with family and friends. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Randy. Survivors include her husband; seven additional children, Robin, Patty, Amy, Joe, John, Mary and James Boo; a sister, Patty Coburn of Portsmouth; 27 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. William Benjamin Ben Sprague, 86, of Phoenix died May 3, 2007, in Phoenix. He was father of Ellen Compton of Sheridan. A military honor ceremony will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, according to his family. Mr. Sprague was born May 17, 1920, in Rockland, Idaho, to Benjamin Franklin Sprague and Elizabeth Hillhouse Sprague. He grew up in Burley, Idaho, and graduated from Burley High School. He attended the University of Idaho in Moscow. He joined the U.S. Navy, serving from October 1941 to October 1945, and returned to Burley after World War II. He married Dena Hartwell Doman on Feb. 2, 1947, and assumed control of the family business, Sprague's Sport Shop. The Spragues moved to Arizona in 1972. Mr. Sprague managed Sun Lake Realty and was the resident tennis pro at Sun Lakes Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994; three sisters, Helen, Betty Lou and Elizabeth; and a brother, Richard. Survivors include three additional children, Gay Lynne Aragon of Mesa, Ariz., Shellie Anderson of American Fork, Utah, and Bill of Tempe, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
BUFFALO Gordon Dean Anderson, 81, of Buffalo died May 14, 2007, in Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Hugo Blotsky as celebrant. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Orville Red Warner, 87, Sheridan, died May 13, 2007, at Westview Health Care Center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Sheridan, Pastor Gordon Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens in Boise, Idaho. Born Jan. 31, 1920, in Galeton, Colo., to David and Pansy Warner, he moved with his family to Idaho when he was a small child and grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Gem State Academy and, as a young man, worked for the Forest Service. He was an Army medic in World War II serving in France, Germany, and stateside. He married LaVonne Henderson in 1944 in Topeka, Kan., and they moved to Sheridan in 1951. Mr. Warner worked at Sheridan VA Medical Center as an aide and later a manual arts therapist. He retired in 1975 and moved to Boise. He married Elaine Kivett in 1976. They enjoyed going on building projects across the United States, Mexico, Sweden, Santo Domingo and Africa. A lifelong member of Seventh-day Adventist Church, he assisted in Pathfinder activities and enjoyed hunting, fishing, archaeology digs, reading, and especially feasts with family and friends. He belonged to the Sheridan-Buffalo Archaeology Society, Idaho Rock & Gem Society, and Idaho Historical Society. After his wife died in 2001, he returned to Sheridan and resided at Heritage Towers. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Darwin and Ralph Warner. Survivors include three children, Orvella Burris and Thomas Warner, both of Sheridan, and William Warner of Elberta, Ala.; two stepchildren, Charles Kivett and Valley Klammer; two brothers, Bud and Merle Warner, both of Boise; two sisters, Irene Itschner of Pendleton, Ore., and Marylene Horn of Boise; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives. He considered as honorary children the Mark and Debbie Oedekoven family of Utah, Kathleen Kelly of Sheridan, and Kathy Weinsaft of Glenrock. He also had a close, special relationship with the daughters and family of John and Mary Fox of Rozet. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Milwaukee to John and Eva Walter, who emigrated from Hungary to the United States. She lived in various places in Wisconsin until 2001, when she moved to Dubois to be closer to her daughter. She worked at a defense plant during World War II, starting as a worker on the floor and later becoming a supervisor in a tool and die plant in West Allis, Wis., that made parts for supercharger airplane engines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heinz Langer, and a brother, John Walter Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Wendtland of Sheridan; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Orville R. Warner, 87, of Sheridan died May 13, 2007, in Westview Health Care Center. Georgia Mae Popp, 74, of Sheridan died May 7, 2007, at the home of her daughter in Gillette. Funeral services are pending with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Popp was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Converse County to George William and Flossie May (Faulkner) Scobee. She attended Woodland Park Elementary School in Sheridan and Sheridan High School. She married Lynn Popp on May 31, 1951, in Billings. She enjoyed cross-stitching, plastic canvas, crafts, fishing, camping, reading, hunting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Eugene. Survivors include two sons, Robert and Dennis, both of Gillette; two daughters, Debra Popp of Sheridan and Annette Canfield of Gillette; two brothers, William Scobee of Spearfish, S.D., and Henry Scobee of Ranchester; a sister, Rose Butler of Sheridan; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Gertrude M. Brace, 86, of Banner died May 7, 2007, in Sheridan Manor. A private family service will be later. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Brace was born Aug. 9, 1920, in New Leipzig, N.D., to Jacob and Mary (Klein) Hochhalter. She grew up and attended schools in North Dakota. She married Merwin Brace in 1946; they lived in Grand Lodge, Mich. She worked for Cutler Plastics in Lansing, Mich., until she retired. She moved to Eagle, Colo., for 12 years, then returned to Michigan. She moved to Sheridan in June 2006 to be near family. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, reading and making rag rugs. She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters, Mary Ann and Amy Lou. Survivors include a daughter, Dora Prince of Banner; a brother, Edwin Hochhalter of North Dakota; a sister, Delores Kuntz of North Dakota; and three grandchildren. A celebration of the life of Gerald Jerry Townsend, 70, of Sheridan will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Melius officiating. Mr. Townsend died May 5, 2007, at his residence. Cremation has taken place. He was born May 30, 1936, in Sheridan to Agnes A. (Donahue) Townsend and Cyrus C. Townsend. He attended school in Sheridan and joined the Marine Corps in 1953. He served until 1957, attaining the rank of sergeant. He married Karen Mullock on Jan. 10, 1970. Mr. Townsend was in the retail liquor business for 40 years, including 22 years in partnership at the Rainbow Bar with a brother and 18 at the Rendezvous Liquor and Lounge with his wife. He was secretary of the Wyoming State Liquor Dealers Association for four years and retired from his business in 2001. He drove the Sheridan Senior Citizens Center mini-bus from October 2002 until Oct. 1, 2005, when he resigned for health reasons. He enjoyed hunting, camping, barbecues and games with family and friends, and his dog, Precious. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rick and Randy, and two brothers, Don and Darrell, all of Sheridan; a sister, Barbara Lilley of California; and three grandchildren. Graveside services for former Sheridan resident Willard W. Given, 87, of Greeley, Colo., will be 11 a.m. Monday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Given died May 2, 2007, in Greeley. He was born Feb. 18, 1920, in Sheridan to Warren B. and Neil (Warriner) Given. He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. He was a World War II veteran of the European Theater. He married Geraldine Beck on Dec. 29, 1943, in Sheridan. She died in 2006. A professional mechanical and electrical engineer, he started his own business in 1956 doing work in heating, plumbing and electrical designs. He lived in Salina, Kan., for one year, St. Louis for 40 years, and Cheyenne for 15 years. He was a member of Missouri Athletic Club, the St. Louis Chapter of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, St. Louis Engineer's Club, American Consulting Engineer's Council, and Rotary International. Survivors include a son, James of Morrison, Colo.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She lived in Sheridan County for 36 years. She worked in various jobs including as a waitress, food and beverage manager, and department store associate. She enjoyed her family and friends and the outdoors. She married Lee Schrader in 1991. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Darrell Bocek and Wayne Bocek; two daughters, Charlene Bocek and Lisa Maney; three stepchildren, James, Shane and Michelle Schrader; eight sisters, Mary Smith, Barbara Patterson, Sylvia Squire, Jeanette Krohn, Lorraine Altepeter, Sheila Ingram, Verrice Brossart and Laura Bradley; two brothers, Ray and Ronald Volk; and three grandchildren. Ruth Amanda Hanson, 92, of Sheridan died May 2, 2007, in Sheridan Manor. Private family graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Willow Grove Cemetery, Buffalo, with Phil Dillinger officiating. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m. today and 8-9 a.m. Saturday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo. Mrs. Hanson was born Nov. 19, 1914, in Buffalo to Harry and Ruby Kershner. She grew up and attended schools in Buffalo. She married Andrew J. "Andy" Hanson on Nov. 6, 1933, in Hardin, Mont. They resided in Buffalo, where they owned and operated the Andy Hanson Sawmill for 32 years. Mrs. Hanson also was a store clerk for Coast to Coast in Buffalo. Mr. Hanson died in December 1977. Mrs. Hanson retired in 1980. She moved to Sheridan Manor a few months ago. She was a special friend of Dan Borgialli of Buffalo. She was a member of Rebekah's Lodge and Big Horn Baptist Church. An avid fisherman, she enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, four sisters, two brothers and one grandson. Survivors include a son, Ron of Buffalo, and six great-grandchildren. Former Sheridan resident Patsy N. Rifenbery, 78, of Louisville, Tenn., died May 1, 2007, in Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tenn. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the Maryville Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in Clearfield City (Utah) Cemetery. Mrs. Rifenbery was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Highland Park PTO in Sheridan, Wyoming Association of Cosmetologists, and the Navy Widows Association in Sierra Vista, Ariz. She served as an auxiliary volunteer at Weber Memorial Hospital and the Life Care Center in Sierra Vista. She was an avid genealogist and historian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marble Rifenbery; a sister, Merle Crayne; and a brother, Edgar Morgan Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl R. Spencer of Louisville; a stepson, Charles Joseph Rifenbery of Georgia; two brothers, Donald Morgan of Wyoming and Robert Morgan of California; a sister, Phylis Davis of California; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Marvin O. Larsen, 76, of Dayton died April 27, 2007, at his residence. At his request, no service is planned. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. He was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Pine County, Minn., to Oscar and Anna Louise (Steinmetz) Larsen. He grew up and attended schools in Pine County before entering the U.S. Army. He served in Germany and two combat tours in Korea. After the service, he was a self-employed truck driver and master mechanic. He traveled all over the United States until retiring to the Sheridan-Dayton area 20 years ago. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, who died in Vietnam; and a granddaughter. Survivors include a son, Dennis of Aurora, Colo.; and two brothers, Jerry of Thompson Falls, Mont., and Larry of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
Kathleen V. Williams, 65, of Sheridan died April 28, 2007, according to her family. Memorial services will be announced later. She was born Feb. 2, 1942. After the death of her birth mother, she and her siblings were adopted by Rosie (Belus) and Melvin Pruett. She was a 1960 graduate of Sheridan High School. She married James Douglas on July 3, 1960. They divorced. She married Byron "Buck" Williams in 1976. He died in February 1998. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn; two sisters; and one brother. Survivors include a son, Stephen Douglas of Shepherd, Mont.; a daughter, Brenda Torrens of Sheridan; three stepchildren, Lisa, Jeff and Tony; her mother of Sheridan; and six grandchildren.

He served in the U.S. Army and the National Guard Army Reserve. He married Della Volk on June 30, 1962, in Fulda, Pierce County, N.D. He enjoyed spending time on the family farm, collecting antique tractors, carpentry, playing dominos and being with his family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Allen, and a grandson. Survivors include his wife; five children, Deborah O'Dell, Nancy Grover and Pamela Hilling, all of Sheridan, and Loni O'Dell and Kenneth Pederson Jr., both of Gillette; his mother of Glendive, Mont.; five siblings, Helen Skogas of Rapid City, BeverlySawyer of Texas, Betty Martin of Oregon, Marilyn Woods of California and Harry Covell of Laramie; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
