Dorothy H. Crump, 76, of Sheridan died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Pastor William Heine officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Crump was born March 22, 1927, in Acme to Frank and Pauline (Leis) Sperl. She grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. She graduated from Sheridan High School in 1945 and attended college in Thermopolis to become a nurse. She returned to Sheridan, where she married Ray L. Crump in May 1949. The couple moved to Casper, then California. Mrs. Crump retired to Sheridan in the mid-1980s. She enjoyed talking to her family on the phone and listening to music. She was preceded in death by a brother. Survivors include two sons, Gregory A. of Corona, Calif., and Tom J. of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Sandra West of Temcula, Calif., and Kathy Punt of Lodi, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, in care of Karen Green, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 2007, Sheridan, WY 82801.
Frank A. Boyko, 89, of Sheridan died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Vigil service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Stolcis officiating.

Shirley T. Sampson, 63, of Sheridan died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Private family services were at Kane Funeral Home with George Tellez officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Sampson was born in Sheridan Sept. 22, 1940, to Darlene Fern (McKenzie) and Roy Lewis Griffin. She grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. She married Franklin Wayne Shorty Sampson Sept. 30, 1958, in Custer, S.D. She worked at the Sheridan VA Medical Center for 25 years as a certified nursing assistant on the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit and the Psychiatric Unit. She enjoyed fishing, camping and travel. After Mr. Sampson's death, she met Steve Noel, and they attended auctions and yard sales. Mrs. Sampson made crafts, liked antique cars and was a member of the Sheridan KARZ Club. Survivors include her companion, Mr. Noel, of Sheridan; a daughter, Rita, of Sheridan; three sisters, Billie Garriffa and Pauline Griffin, both of Sheridan, and Aileen Thulesen of Billings; and numerous nieces and a nephew. BUFFALO Former Buffalo resident Yvonne Hall, 86, of Midland, Texas, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, in Odessa, Texas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo with the Rev. Dr. Karen Stork-Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 1-10 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside rites. Brittany Rader, 17, of Gillette died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, at her home. Cause of death has not been confirmed, according to Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home. Miss Rader was a 2003 graduate of Sheridan High School. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette. Miss Rader was born June 6, 1986, in Gillette to Paula (Badger) and Travis Rader. She grew up in Gillette and returned there to live with her mother after graduating from high school. Survivors include her father, of Gillette; her mother and stepfather, Paula and John Villa of Gillette; two brothers, Esequiel Villa and Max Rader, both of Gillette; three sisters, Aurora Badger and Deni Evans, both of Gillette, and Lauren Hoffmeyer of Orlando, Fla.; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Louetta Rader of Chillicothe, Mo.; and maternal grandparents, Jerry Badger of Valmy, Nev., and Vivian Balgheim of Gillette. BUFFALO William Petersen, 84, of Buffalo died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, in Johnson County Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doris Mary Rogers Dollison, 85, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, in Newcastle. She was mother of Fred Dollison, who lived in Sheridan until last year, when he moved to Sundance to become district judge. Funeral services were Sept. 6 in Newcastle. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Worden Funeral Directors with military graveside rites. Mrs. Dollison was born Feb. 5, 1918, in Upton to Raymond E. and Ruth M. (Maudlin) Rogers. She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1936 and served in the Women's Army Corp., 5th Army during World War II. She was stationed in Italy and North Africa in communications. She was later employed by Mountain States Bell Telephone Co. as a telephone operator and billing clerk. She married John E. Dollison June 8, 1946, in Newcastle. He died in 2002. Mrs. Dollison was a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, the Senior Center and as a Red Cross worker in the hospital. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, James Jay. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Hawthorne of Chadron, Neb.; two other sons, Rollie of Osage and Mike of Newcastle; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-granddaughters; and one step-great-granddaughter. Laura Auchmuty, 91, of Sheridan died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003. Cremation has taken place, and no services are scheduled. Kane Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Auchmuty was born Oct. 19, 1911, to Paul and Bessie White in Greenwood, Neb. She married Forrest L. Auchmuty June 20, 1935, in Auburon, Neb. They moved to Sheridan in fall, 1945, and Dr. Auchmuty practiced veterinary medicine until his death in 1947. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Auchmuty was preceded in death by a sister, two brothers and a nephews.
Survivors include a niece, two nephews, and her adopted families, Joan and Wayne Kirby, Mark and Debbie Hutchins and family and Dean and Colleen Schatz and family.

Elsie J. Smith, 98, of Sheridan died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, in Westview Health Care Center. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be in Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, Mo. Kane Funeral Home is handling local arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born March 27, 1907, in Springfield to Jesse and Mary (Cavender) Smith. She traveled throughout Europe and was able to see Queen Elizabeth II's coronation while in London. She lived in Washington, D.C., 60 years before moving to Sheridan to be close to her family. She taught school for seven years then worked for the state department until retirement. She loved children, her family and traveling to visit friends on the East Coast. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lenzner. Survivors, all of Sheridan, include her sister, June Lobdell; a niece, Donna Kuehne; a great-niece, Jenny Loomis; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Jerry M. Robertson, 69, of Sheridan died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Funeral services will be next week in Phoenix, Ariz., with dates and times to be announced. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix. Kane Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

Carole L. Daniels, 75, of Sheridan died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.
Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Nelson and the Rev. Wilbur Holz officiating.
Mrs. Daniels was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Chariton, Iowa, to Thomas and Evelyn (Herron) Campbell. She grew up in Iowa and California and graduated from high school in Leon, Iowa.
She married Clarence Daniels Aug. 22, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas. They lived in St. Joseph, Mo., before moving to Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Daniels worked as a tailor for JC Penney and as a loan officer for Avco Financial. They moved to Sheridan in 1973. She worked for Woolworth, the Farm Bureau and as a tax preparer for H&R Block.
She enjoyed reading, decorating, sewing and going for walks with her dog.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Margaret Grant.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Ashford of Sheridan and Linda Golmitz of Sheridan; three sisters, Gladys Wallace of Chariton, Doris Ferguson of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Lila Ormsby of Loma Linda, Calif.

Dollie Mae Eigenheer, 98, of Sheridan died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003, in Sheridan Manor. Viewing is 1-5 p.m. today at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. Mrs. Eigenheer was born Nov. 14, 1904, in Salt Springs, to Lloyd and Sophornia (Mock) Griffith. The family homesteaded near Red Butte, and she attended Red Butte School. She moved to Sheridan and worked as a waitress for several years. She married Harold Eigenheer in the mid-1950s. He died in 1978. She was a past member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, playing darts, fishing and bingo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Phillips; a daughter, Elsie; and stepsons Charles and Norman Eigenheer. Survivors include two sons, Harry Phillips of Newcastle and Ed Phillips of Sheridan; three daughters, Helen Kopp of Hardin, Clarice King of Moorcroft and Paxey Geer of Sheridan; six stepsons, Harley, David, Robert and Jim Eigenheer, all of Minnesota, Wayne Eigenheer of California and Joe Eigenheer of Illinois; two stepdaughters, Florence Jorgenson and Mary Boggs, both of Minnesota; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James K. John, 80, of Thermopolis died Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, in Hot Springs Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis. He was father of Fred John of Sheridan. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Mortimore Funeral Home in Thermopolis, conducted by the Malta Lodge and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2281. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. John was born March 23, 1923, in Sublette to Kenneth K. and Katherine John. He graduated from Kemmerer High School. He joined the Navy in June 1941 and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He was among survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor and served in the Pacific campaign. He was discharged in November 1945 and joined Mountain Bell. He married Margaret L. Thoman July 29, 1950. He moved to Thermopolis in 1958 and was regional manager for Mountain Bell until 1978 when he retired. He was past president of Telephone Pioneers, Toast Masters, Lions Club, State Pearl Harbor Survivors Association (twice) and the Thermopolis Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Elks, Masons and Shrine, served as exalted ruler of the Elks, past master of the Malta Lodge and was past president and five times potentate of the Shrine. He was National All-American Commander of VFW Post 2281, served two terms on the Hot Springs County school board, two terms on the State Fire Commission, two terms on the Thermopolis City Council, was chairman and member of the Hot Springs County Hospital board and was Democratic state committeeman for Hot Springs County. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, fly tying, cooking and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
Survivors include three other children, Alice of Albuquerque, N.M., Kenneth of Elko, Nev., and Robert of Salt Lake City; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Monty Odell Harrison, 89, of Sheridan died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Viewing will be 3-7 p.m. Friday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Arden Haeffner officiating.

Eulala Geraldine Hakert Elsom, 87, of Buffalo died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, in Johnson County Memorial Hospital. She was mother of Judith Shippy of Sheridan. Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Thursday at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Charles Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services. Arrangements are with Adams Funeral Home of Buffalo. Mrs. Elsom was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Hickey, Minn., to Michael Alexander Hakert and Leora Gebhart Hakert.
The family moved to Buffalo when she was 6 months old and homesteaded at the Buffalo Wallows. Mrs. Elsom attended the George Hakert County School by horseback until the family moved into town. She graduated from Johnson County High School in 1934, then attended the University of Wyoming for two years and obtained her teaching certificate. She taught in many country schools including Sussex, French Creek, Arvada and Klondike for 10 years. She married Charles Edward Taylor May 28, 1942, in Sussex. Mr. Taylor died in Nancy, France, at the Battle of the Bulge on Oct. 2, 1944. Mrs. Elsom married J.D. Elsom Aug. 26, 1946. They made their home on the family ranch 12 miles south of Buffalo. Mrs.
She was a member of Wyoming Wool Growers and entered Make-It-Yourself with Wool contests. She also belonged to Council of Catholic Women Organization and Johnson County Coop and was a 4-H leader. She was a member of Clear Creek Homemakers for 53 years, a Quealy Honoree (the highest State Home Makers award) since 1985 and a member of the Senior Center advisory council. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by Mr. Elsom; a son, Jerry; a brother, Andrew Hakert; and a sister, Hazel Balden.
Survivors include four sons, Edward of Fort Collins, Colo., David of Spearfish, S.D., and George and John, both of Buffalo; two other daughters, Janice Kolnik of Buffalo and Jocelyn Burns of Laramie; two sisters, Carol Hibler of Green River and Nancy Beattie of Buffalo; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels in care of the Adams Funeral Home.
Former Sheridan resident Leon Rains, 89, of Tillamook, Ore., died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at his residence. A private inurnment will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Ore. Arrangements are with Waud's Funeral Home of Tillamook. Mr. Rains was born May 19, 1914, in Hobart, Okla., to Robert Rains and Lela Balch. He lived in Oklahoma 18 years before moving to Montana and Wyoming. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45, then returned to Decker, Mont. He worked as a nurse's aide at Sheridan VA Medical Center for 27 years, and he and his wife, Genevieve, lived in Sheridan from 1951-74.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Doris Rains of Portland; two sons, Alvin of Casper and Edwin of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Anna Mae of Lawton, Okla., and Edmee of Boise, Idaho; and four grandchildren.
Clara L. Smallwood, 93, of Sheridan died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, in Superior, Mont. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Forman officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Mrs. Smallwood was born April 11, 1910, in Capa, S.D., to Joseph and Bessie (Gleason) Tanner. The family moved to Arvada when she was a young girl. She married George Smallwood May 9, 1959, in Sheridan. She drove a pilot car for years, and she helped at the Salvation Army until she was 90 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Bill and Joe.
Survivors include three sons, Bert Horton of Superior, and Sam Horton and Ted Boggess, both of Sheridan; a daughter, Bernice Worden of Sheridan; a sister, Myra Spellman of Spotted Horse; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Redinger was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Deadwood, S.D., to Reazo and Evelyn (Olson) Redinger. He married Fern Wilen March 23, 1957, in Deadwood. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, inventing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by a son, Lars; and eight grandchildren. Survivors include his mother; his wife, of Sheridan; 10 sons, Lee of Naples, S.D., Todd of Weberville, Mich., Linn of Sturgis, S.D., Scott of St. Paul, Minn., Ross of Gillette and Hugh, Hans, Drew, Orin and Noel, all of Sheridan; three daughters, Kim Tapani and Joy Redinger, both of Sheridan, and Gwen Homola of Ranchester; four brothers, Reazo Jr. Bud of Yacolt, Wash., and Daryl, Paul and James, all of Spearfish, S.D.; three sisters, Evelyn Willen of Belle Fourche, S.D., Mary Rosenlund of Spearfish, S.D., and Edna Bunn of Chanhassen, Minn.; 57 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Carlene Mae Hudecek, 63, of Sheridan died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at her residence. Cremation has taken place and memorial services and inurnment will be at a later date in Sioux Falls, S.D. Local arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mrs. Hudecek was born July 11, 1940, in Sioux Falls to Carl and Madeline (Bannig) Anderson. She married Joe Hudecek June 12, 1975, in Baltic, S.D. They had five children.

BUFFALO Leon Rich, 83, of Buffalo died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, in the Johnson County Healthcare Center. Helena E. Lovick, 85, of Sheridan died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Terral Bearden officiating. Visitation will be 4 p.m. Sunday in Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Home in California, Mo. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in California City Cemetery. Mrs. Lovick was born April 6, 1918, in Fairfield, Mo., to Charles Robert and Martha Agnes (Tupin) Eaton. She grew up in southeast Missouri and married Lewis William Lovick there July 15, 1934. She was a homemaker. She moved to Sheridan in 1997 to be near her sister. She enjoyed flowers, reading, cooking, playing cards, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by eight brothers, five sisters and two sons. Survivors include her husband; one son, Daniel Larry of Sheridan; two daughters, Darleen Comfort and Sharleen Livingston, both of Sheridan; four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.

Former Sheridan resident Henry Clay Tiny Jackson, 81, of Billings died at his home Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, after a 4 1/2-month struggle with leukemia. At his request he was cremated, and no services will be held. Arrangements are with Bullis Mortuary, Hardin, Mont. Mr. Jackson was born April 18, 1922, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Harvey Eugene and Helen Frew Jackson. He attended school in Idaho before moving to Montana in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1942 until October 1943, when he was honorably discharged. He married Malena Berland Jan. 15, 1945, in Montana. They lived in Sheridan, and Mr. Jackson worked for Big Horn Coal Co. in Monarch. They moved to Lodge Grass, Mont., in 1949. The family moved to Fort Smith, Mont., in 1963, and he operated the Fort Smith ServiceCenter. They moved to Steamboat Springs, Colo., in 1974, and Mr. Jackson worked for Dominion Construction before moving to Hardin, where he managed the Lodge Grass Farmers' Union. He worked for Western Energy in Colstrip, Mont., from 1980 until 1995, when he retired and moved to Billings. Mrs. Jackson died in 2002. Mr. Jackson later spent time in Dayton with longtime friend Dorothy Wham Scott. In addition to his wife, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Wolfgang and Dorothy Bergman, and three brothers, Glen, Ray and Kenny. Survivors include four sons, Kenneth and Steven, both of Renton, Wash., and Dale and Carey, both of Billings; a daughter, Linda Franklin of Denver; two brothers, Wally of Kaiser, Ore., and Walter Rex of Auburn, Wash.; a sister, Cora Bell Cody Kelley of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Benjamin E. Trujillo, 74, of Sheridan died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Church with the Rev. Philip Ntulama officiating. Burial will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Trujillo was born Jan. 17, 1929, in San Luis, Colo., to Jose Elais and Amanda (Montaya) Trujillo. He married Cora Marie Sanchez Nov. 19, 1945. She died in 1978. Mr. Trujillo married Peggy Dykes in July 1979; they later divorced, and she died in 1998. Mr. Trujillo married Lois Preston Kennedy Nov. 30, 1996. He enjoyed playing slot machines, watching horse races in Billings, TV football especially the Denver Broncos and Sheridan College Generals' and Lady Generals' basketball games. Mr. Trujillo was an avid gardener and proud of his sunflowers. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, whom he called his Little Petunia, and his dog, Chloe. He was a member of Eagles Lodge and Holy Name Catholic Church. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Silviano, and three sisters, Delia Chavez, Celia Rodriguez and Josephine Archuleta. Survivors include his wife, Lois of Sheridan; a daughter, Mary Ann Dyles of Buffalo; three sons, Pat of Lame Deer, Mont., Ross of Sparks, Nev., and Larry of Cheyenne; a sister, Ruth Mounts of Edgewater, Colo.; three half brothers, Ed and Ernie, both of Sheridan, and Sam of Gillette; four half sisters, Susie Westika, Bertha Ligocki and Alice Sosa, all of Sheridan, and Rose McClure of Billings;13 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.

Loraine H. Livingston, 91, of Sheridan died Friday Sept. 5, 2003, in St. Vincent Hospital in Billings. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with Gary Kopsa officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mrs. Livingston was born Aug. 7, 1912, in Minneapolis to Edward and Hazel (Lynch) Browne II. She came to Sheridan in 1931. She married Amil Livingston June 21, 1937, in Thermopolis. The couple lived in Sheridan and built the Big Horn Avenue Grocery. After raising her children, Mrs. Livingston attended college and studied bookkeeping, then kept books for her husband for a few years. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, was active in women's circle groups and took care of the nursery. She also taught the Pioneer Girls. She enjoyed gardening (especially roses), birds, sewing, crafts and reading. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Edward.
Survivors include her husband, of Sheridan; two sons, Edward and Jack, both of Sheridan; two daughters, Hazel Richard and Louise Knievel, both of Sheridan; a brother, Dudley Browne of Austin, Texas; a sister, Rill Cessnun of Hot Springs, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Helen M. Ahrens, 88, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, in her Sheridan home. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home, the Rev. William Heine officiating. Funeral services will also take place Thursday in Marengo, Ill., with burial in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock, Ill. Born May 6, 1915, in Chicago to Henry and Mary (Tierney) Hall, she married Harold Ahrens Sr. on Aug. 30, 1933, in Waukegan, Ill. They lived on a farm in Marengo until retiring in 1971. Mrs. Ahrens enjoyed reading, playing cards, cooking and baking for her family. She was known as a devoted wife and mother who loved her grand-, great-grand- and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 1998, when she moved to Sheridan to live with her younger daughter, Susan Godwin. She also belonged for over 50 years to Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo, where she was a Sunday school teacher and president of Ladies Aid for many years. She was also a 4-H leader when her children were young. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982 and an infant son. In addition to her younger daughter, survivors include a daughter, Patricia Brown, of Weslaco, Texas; two sons, Richard Ahrens of Okeechobee, Fla., and Harold Ahrens Jr. of Riverwoods, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine, Lakewood, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Former Sheridan County resident Joan Snyder, 70, of Buffalo, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at Johnson County Health Care Center. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Buffalo, the Rev. Kirk Peters officiating, followed by graveside services at Shell Cemetery. Born Aug. 9, 1933, in in Shell to Stanley and Lydia Pense, she grew up in Shell and graduated from Greybull High School in 1951. She then worked at the PK Ranch west of Sheridan. She married Robert L. Snyder on Feb. 25, 1954, in Billings, and they lived in Ten Sleep. They moved to Worland, where they lived until moving to the Wagon Hammer Ranch near Gillette in 1958. In 1960 they moved to the Gordon Ranch west of Kaycee, where they lived until moving to Meade Creek Ranch in Sheridan County in 1963. Mrs. Snyder moved to Buffalo in 1996. She spent her life cooking for ranch crews and dedicated her life to her family. She especially enjoyed camping and four-wheeling. A sister, Georgia Tolman, preceded her in death. Survivors include twin daughters, Marilyn Connolly and Carolyn Fox, both of Buffalo; a son, Stan Snyder, of Big Horn; a brother, Gary Pense, of Kaycee; three sisters, Gloria Borner of Cody, Faye Hepp of Buffalo, and Margie Pense of Thermopolis; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Robert K. Richardson, 76, of Sheridan died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, in Westview Health Care Center. A private family memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Mr. Richardson was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa, to James and Rosetta (Clark) Richardson. The family moved to the Grass Creek area near Thermopolis when he was 7 years old, and he attended schools in Thermopolis. He served in the Navy during World War II, stationed in Norfolk, Va. He moved to Wyoming after the service and worked in the oil field at Grass Creek and the surrounding Big Horn Basin area. He and Charles Stump started R&S Well Servicing Co. in 1961 and operated it until 1971. He married Phyllis Jean Haynes Dec. 11, 1971, in Laramie. They moved to Evanston and lived there until 1992, when Mr. Richardson retired. They returned to Thermopolis, then moved to Sheridan in 1997. Mr. Richardson was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his family. He always had a pug dog with him. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, one daughter and one son. Survivors include his wife of Sheridan; four sons, Robert of Powell, Brian of Kemmerer, Phillip of Casper and Wendell of Riverton; a daughter, Rozanne Pebbles of Dillon, Mont.; two stepdaughters, Nancy Hess of Sheridan and Sharon Ward of Boulevard, Calif.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Delchia Lonabaugh Neighbors, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at Sheridan Manor. Cremation has taken place. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, the Revs. Ray Clark and David Duprey officiating, with burial in Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Born April 16, 1920, in Sheridan to Andrew and Mary (Nichols-Kumor) Banas, she was raised by Marie Swaner and married Robert Andrew Neighbors on May 15, 1953. She graduated from Chicago Art Institute. She taught tole painting for 20 years and donated several paintings to the Senior Center for benefit auctions. In 1963 at the 25th anniversary meeting of the National Federation of Republican Women in Chicago, Mrs. Neighbors modeled a ball gown worn by first lady Mrs. Benjamin Harrison. She also modeled the inaugural ball gown for the Ballet Guild's dinner/dance in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Neighbors was a VA Red Cross volunteer for 30 years and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Jerry Banas. Survivors include a daughter, Lesa Raths-Whitaker of Sheridan; a brother, Andrew Jack Banas of Sheridan; and a granddaughter. Otis Lucky Bateman Jr., 80, of Sheridan died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at his residence. No services are scheduled. Arrangements are with Kane Funeral Home. Mr. Bateman was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Alanthus, Mo., to Otis Sr. and LuLu Bateman. He enlisted in the Navy and served as a gunner, stationed mostly in the South Pacific and Hawaii. After service he moved to Kennewick, Wash. He married Annette Potter and later moved with his family to Sheridan to work for his sister and brother-in-law, Ermal and Don Roberts, on the PK Ranch. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Delmas, Leon, Wayne, Harold and Chester, and three sisters, Ermal Roberts, Martha Scherger and Lola Ensor. Survivors include three children, Bret, Tamara and Eric, and two grandchildren. James H. Lutz, 85, of Sheridan died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, in Westview Health Care Center after an 18-year battle with cancer. Viewing is until 4 p.m. today at Kane Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Elks Cemetery. Mr. Lutz was born in Herman, Minn., March 9, 1918, to Clarence and Marie (Leis) Lutz. The family moved to Ranchester when he was 3 years old. He attended school in Ranchester. He married Rose Marie Troche May 4, 1941. He went to work for the CB&Q Railroad around 1936 and retired after 42 years as track supervisor. He was a lifetime member of the Elks. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed talking about hunting trips with friends. Survivors include his wife and two sisters, Theresia Ogilvie and Lillian Hawkey, both of Sheridan. Estella Dale Brown, 86, of Buffalo died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, in Westview Health Care Center in Sheridan. She was mother of Charles Brown and Thelma Pack, both of Sheridan. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Willow Grove Cemetery with the Rev. Su DeBree officiating. Mrs. Brown was born April 18, 1917, in Downing to Charles and Laura Bulkley. She grew up and attended rural schools in Campbell, Crook and Johnson counties. She married John E. Brown Sept. 14, 1936, in Sheridan. They made their home in Buffalo. Mr. Brown died in 1978. Mrs. Brown became a resident at the Veteran's Home of Wyoming in 1987; she moved to Westview Health Care Center recently. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers, two grandsons and two granddaughters. Survivors include two other sons, Raymond of Anaconda, Mont., and James of Hollyroad, Kan.; two other daughters, Laura Shell of Yuma, Ariz., and Hazel Pepe Krug of Douglas; a brother, Clifford Bulkley of Buffalo; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
